  Hi. I am trying to bond my first pair of bunnies and am hopefully getting close to the point where I will start housing them together. My question is about feeding time. Finnegan is a bit of a glutton. Within minutes of me giving him his pellets and veggies they are gone. He then munches on hay throughout the day until his next feeding time. Fiona is a grazer. She will nibble at her pellets and veggies throughout the day and often has some left in her dishes by the time dinner rolls around. They both have access to unlimited hay at all times. Fiona is also a much shier bunny and does not eat food or treats from our hand. In general she is not a food motivated girl. My concern is that once I start to house them together Finnegan is going to eat all the pellets and veggies and leave nothing for Fiona.
  
  About a month ago PomandCourt gave me some good advice to feed them in intervals, breakfast and dinner, but I already do this. I think if I gave Finn unlimited pellets or veggies he would sit there and eat them all day long. He loves his food!
  
  Has anyone else had this problem? If so, how have you handled it?

  I have wondered this too for when is comes time to start bonding my rabbits. I also have one piggy and one who paces herself.

  I also have a piggy. My female used to be a piggy. Lately she prefers to eat when I am not watching her. My male is a piggy. He would knock me over if he could – to get the food from me. I feed them twice a day, and leave enough so she has food once he has munched it down. She also eats more hay than him, so I know she will have something to eat. Since she is so bossy, she often tells him to groom her before she will allow him to eat. So they seem to work it out. Try feeding them together and see how it goes. It sounds as I you have been feeding them separately. They might develop surprising feeding habits once they are eating together.
