  My bunny is about 4 months old and she only eats alfalfa hay. I took her to the vet about a month ago and he said he wants her to be eating timmothy hay by about 6 months. Now, I’ve tried several different methods. I’ve tried mixing the timmothy and alfalfa together but she just digs through and looks for the alfalfa. I’ve also tried to getting the condensed squares of timmothy hay but she just takes that and puts it in her water. I’ve also tried just straight giving her timmothy so she has no choice but she will just not eat. I’ve run out of options/ideas. What should I do?

  You don’t have to feed timothy necessarily, just as long as you get a grass hay. Try different kinds and different cuts to see if there is something your bunny will like. Alfalfa is a legume and it’s very sweet, that’s why your bunny likes it. You could try oat hay, lot’s of bunnies like that because it’s got a nice crunch to it. Orchard grass is finer and has a touch of sweetness to it. There are a bunch of options out there.
  
  Is your bunny a small breed? Small breeds stop growing around 6 months, so I imagine that’s why your vet said to wean your bunny off the alfalfa. I think once you start limiting pellets, the transition with the hay will be easier. So at this point, I wouldn’t worry too much if she is not too fond of grass hay.
