PLEASE HELP I NEED EXPERT ADVICE.
First off I bought both my rabbits. I understand it is better to adopt from a shelter but I have yet to find a shelter, where I live, that has rabbits. My first rabbit’s name Is Valentine.I bought him when he was 8 weeks old, I believe? He is a LionHead-Angora mix, he is extremely smart, hyper, fun-loving, fearless, and has a huge personality. He is about 7-8 months old right now, but, I notched awhile back that he was lonely, so I began to search to find him a companion.
He fell in love with a Holland Lop that I named Scarlett. When I met her she was sweet, loved to be pet and was pretty okay with everything. She was a breeding rabbit and is a little over a year old. The woman I bought her from described her to have this huge personality, and said that her breed would be energetic. I cannot tell if she is still timid and frightened of her new found life or she really is as boring as a potato. She hides under a box the ENTIRE day, does not roam much and does not play or chew. I bought her back in July, I am deeply worried her new life just is not for her. I give them a grand amount of space to roam ( she previously had a cage) I have a decent sized room attached to mine. Val runs and plays all day and all night, he has a fierce appetite but is quite healthy. Scarlett eats, but not very much. She just recently began to take treats by hand, but down right refuses to enteract with anyone. As i mentioned earlier Val is very smart, when it is feeding time, and because Scarlett practically lives in a box, he goes and gets her to come eat.
I need some advice as to help Scarlett is any way, she is not very active, and hops around oddly. It is difficult to examine her because she runs and hides. I did recently notice she had diarrhea and it dried on her. ( i noticed it in a attempt to coax her to the food)
She also previously had a eye infection and has red urine. I also down-sized her roaming space to help her feel more comfortable.
Please please give me any advice you can.
