Hi everyone.
So Stanley and I have temporarily moved in with my fiancé’s parents. He is forced to stay in their basement as they don’t have air conditioning and it’s very hot this summer. He’s used to being in my room and having basically constant contact.
He’s been doing well I think until tonight something strange happened.
I went downstairs to give him food, veggies and hay and pets.. I noticed he had no food and there were a lot of poops. I gave him his usuals and cleaned his cage. I then took him out of the cage and put him on the ground so he could run around. I haven’t done this at all yet in the new area so maybe that freaked him out? I was also “pulling” tufts of fur out because he’s shedding/molting like crazy right now.
When he went back in his cage he would not come near me. He let me pet him but from afar. This is what really scares me.. He wouldn’t take his favorite cookie! He always comes right over when I shake the jar.. He just looked really annoyed. He also wasn’t going for the parsley he always loves. I was sitting there for 10 minutes to see if he’d move around and he just sat there staring at me looking mad. I tried listening for gassy sounds but heard nothing. I also felt his tummy and it didn’t feel hard.
I hope I’m just over reacting but I know how serious GI stasis is. What do you guys think? I’m praying I go down there in the morning and he’s eaten the veggies and his treat and I see poops….
I need opinions please please please and thank you!!!

PS: also need to mention he has done this before.. once or twice when I did took him out then put him back in, he’d ignore me, the cookie and the food. agh! can’t help but worry
