We are fairly far north and have amazing daylight in the summer (and dismal daylight in winter). In May/June you must close your blinds at 11. It’s very sad as now about 10 pm it’s starting to get dusky-which means….yes it’s August!!!

Well in happier news Moxie’s 2nd birthday is in 6 days (on the 7th) and my dog’s birthday is at the end of the month (31st and she’ll be 4).

I had dreams of all three of my bunnies happily running about the room while Zoey napped on the end of the bed; only to be woken up by Tilly dumping a trash can and running off with the empty bag for Zoey’s dry food. lol It’s a new month!

I blame LBJ for making August happen!

Actually can’t believe its August!!

This year is going by way too quickly.

I’m excited its August! All the teenagers have to go back to school and will go back to only keeping us awake on weekends!

August! What? Ha. I’m glad, though, as I would like this year to be over. And most of next year. Because then I get to quit my job!! Or at least transfer. And then I can have a new job to hate.

Fíli and Pippin continue to vex as far as bonding. Saw the most adorable girl at the HRS, thought bringing in a third might help stabilize the dynamics or would give me one bonded pair and one single, but she was a pretty dominant little bun and ended up not getting along with either of them. Probably for the best, I suppose, as 3 bunnies would really be a lot! I am not sure if I am going to give up and just keep Fíli and Pippin separate or if I should keep trying. It is very harrowing to watch them still be fighting after all the work I have done and feeling like I am totally failing them as a caretaker. Pippin gets so upset he starts screaming sometimes and I just hate it.

I would be upset it’s August but August means I leave for Spain in 3 weeks! WAHOO!

Also, I’ve been alone all weekend as Aaron has been in Philly for a family reunion. Rather than pay for boarding for the buns, I stayed behind. BOO! Probably turned out better anyways, I think I needed some ME time!

I’m happy it is August and I will be counting down the days till it is SPRING! Bring on the warm weather! Lol!

I’m not happy with how fast the year is going by but I’m wanting there next couple months to go by quickly so we can move into our house already!

Ah, it’s the school holidays here.My wife is a teacher so she’s mostly on holiday until September (though she is doing a bit of respite work with one boy). I’m working some of the holidays. Hopefully the days the boys have to be shut away will help them learn good litter habits – they’d peed on our bed five times this morning!

I ran 10 miles yesterday as part of half-marathon training, then went to the zoo, and a concert. I’m soooooore today!

Random Duncan Quirk:
He’s a bit creeped out by combs and brushes (not sure he’d seen one before) so I usually have to use the wet-hand technique for removing excess fur… but that’s slow-going as he’s in an obvious shed at the moment so I have to constantly wash/wipe my hands and then go again… He only puts up with it so long. So here’s the silly thing: Apparently, toothbrushes are great! I’ve got a toothbrush that no one is using and stroked his face a bit with it, and his shoulders.. he seems to enjoy it! I sat there for several minutes making short strokes with the toothbrush, removing the fur clumps, and brushing some more. He even let me get on his chest and back near his tail! Silly boy! Whatever works, right?

Nora, I’m sorry I missed your post on the bonding. IDK how I did. I saw everyone commenting & went back to look. I feel your pain. I have been battling with my two pairs for 7 months now. My wonderful heart bunny Tucker (Manny) is the issue. And it’s because of his crazy anxiety that causes the problems. The others react to his behavior and it has been a disaster a number of times when I get flustered. If you are feeling upset and disheartened about it, I would give yourself a break. Really, the worse we are the harder it will be to bond. I have told so many people that when I take a step back and get myself straightened out and confident again, that’s the only time we make progress. When I continue to push through when I’m frustrated, it always gets so much worse. Tucker also screams when he’s upset and it literally kills my soul. And it quite frankly, pisses the other bunnies off. Take a break if you need one. You can come back to it and it seems you are not dead set on having them bond. Which is good. Because you can take it slowly and bond on and off until you get to a better place with them. I am literally just switching up the situations over and over and over again with them. Every night. Sometimes it’s for 10 minutes, other times I work with them for an hour. Ive tried to keep it different so no one gets comfortable. It literally can be a battle of the wills between you and them. It will eventually happen but you have to make sure you are in it mentally so you don’t affect their bonding. If you have a thread, post it, I would love to take a peek and see what is going on.

LLH, our local rescue Rabbit Wranglers does boarding through their fosters and volunteers! I think it’s easier with RW b/c they do not have a physical location. Boarders/fosterers are literally what allow them to do what they do. Every rabbit in their care is in a foster home. It allows for better interactions and more diligent care since they specialize in bunnies with behavorial issues & disabilities. But it also means that a lot of their fosters are willing to help board! It is quite frankly a pain in the A b/c only one person I know of has the ability to board all 8. And she no longer can b/c it was only if they were all bonded together (she has a large room she uses specifically for boarders and they free-run it). But that was amazing when everyone was bonded. I have been hoping that I can get the two pairs bonded before our vacations b/c it’s easier on me to take to two locations – when I ask for boarding for two quartets than it is for 1 quartet and 2 pairs. If different people take the pairs, it means I have to do drop offs and pick ups to three different locations. Previously, it was a KILLER. Ugh! So much frustration in getting 8 bunnies rounded up and back home! LOL. Thankfully, for both Spain and our trip in Mexico in Nov…..someone has agreed to take both pairs together (so if they are bonded it will work out as well) and another person is taking the other quartet. We have one girl who has ALWAYS taken the Tans and Nora. I love her doing so b/c she is familiar with their antics & still loves taking care of them! It puts my mind at ease.

For Spain, we are giving them $250. They dont ask for a set price, just donations. We always donate & then get the boarders something nice like a gift card or one time for our trip to Hawaii, I made gift baskets for their pets.

LLH, I’m still jealous of your whole day yesterday! I am still sitting on the couch…..At least I have moved from the bed to the couch!

I’m also sad its August because Goose has finally stopped shedding.. probably just in time to start shedding for the fall :/. Silly Bun!

LBJ, my old phone did that sometimes. Then it would let itself be resurrected, and work like normal for a while. It was an Xperia, really old. Hope yours will return to life too.

LBJ, A lot of “newer” phones have batteries that will very soon start losing their gusto, within a year or two of being put to use… it really sucks. I’ve only just replaced my stinking stupid iPhone’s battery, because after having had the phone for a year, it started going down to 0% battery life from 75% in two seconds flat at complete random, it would shut itself off all the time, it would drain battery life at a ridiculous rate, etc.

In the meantime, my old Nokia 3310 brick is still in one of my desk drawers, faithful as ever, and if I pick it up and put a SIM card in it it starts working perfectly. And that thing has a ridiculous battery in it, as well. If only it had internet, I would never get another phone ever again.

Also, hi. I decided to poke my nose into the chat thread instead of just stressing out about my imagined rabbit health concerns at you guys. My name is Liisa, I’m from Finland and I’m 21. I’m also extremely happy that it is already August, unlike many of you, it seems – my university term starts in September, which means I have sooo much more free time than I currently do in my summer job as a waitress. I can’t wait! 

George has been adorable today, giving us lots of licks. (Fred too but he’s more shy.)

There was this adorable moment when we thought he’d come to see us for strokes… But it turns out he just thinks a particular area of his bed is his litter box… Sigh.

I’ve not been to Spain but I have been to Marjorca (a Spanish island) and that was pretty cool.

Thanks for the bonding love, everyone. Maybe a break would be a good idea. I just am running out of ideas with them! Like, Pippin gets all stressed out and freaks out, even when Fíli isn’t doing anything, and then that makes Fíli get aggressive and then they fight. It’s like, duh, guys, just stop freaking out! Ha. Not that easy, I know. We did a session today with the x-pen in the bathroom and it actually went okay? A little bit of fighting, but nothing I had to separate, and then they quieted down and just glared at each other for the rest of the time. And I think yesterday I saw Fíli actually trying to groom, but Pippin got all tense and freaked out so then Fíli nipped him and that precipitated a fight…on and on like that!

I’m so jealous you’re going to Spain, TL! I spent a month there for a summer in college (I minored in Spanish, it was a language study program) and it is such an awesome country. Definitely want to go back there someday!

LBJ, we seriously go using all points saved up from using credit cards. Aaron follows this blog called The Points Guy. Our tickets to Thailand next year were $11,000 apiece. We got them for significantly cheaper using points!

Nora – sending you bonding vibes – I have no experience with it at all but from the stories it sounds like a difficult experience. Although now I have 1 bun Im feeling like I may become addicted and need to add a second bun haha, so I may experience it at some stage in the next year or so.

LBJ – the issue with smart phones is they often end up with loads of applications still open and that drains battery. You can also get apps to check where your battery is being used.

So this morning Si was feeling very friendly, we are still bonding, so little things excite me. But he jumped up onto my lap this morning! I was sooo happy! And he nudged me a few times

River is going really well! (more photos to come, took some with my good camera yesterday) – she has put on 500grams since she got here (2.1kgs now),. Still having trouble getting her poops consistently solid but otherwise she is doing great.

LBJ – If you’re using lots of apps, make sure you close them rather than just switch screen otherwise they’ll collect up and suck up battery in the background.

I’m not familiar with your phone type but you may be able to turn off Internet connection and various settings if you don’t want to use them to increase battery life. Manually decreasing brightness (so it’s not using a sensor to detect light levels) and turning off GPS might be among these.

TanLover – That’s a seriously impressive amount of points collection. I’m glad you got a significant reduction.

Bam – I’m beginning to wonder if they’re marking and that there might be nothing I can do about it until post neuter hormones have died down.

Touch wood, it’s only the bed they’re now peeing on. They seem to get the idea of peeing in the litter box otherwise. I’ve put out a second box full of hay to entice them. Poo everywhere though.

Paradigm- My Tilly still marks her daddy’s scent once in a while, but she’s also learning that if she pees on the bed she loses bed privileges for a couple days. You want to see an insulted bun? Pick them up while they are peeing and deposit them in their box! Oh the glares! lol But it seems to get the point across pretty well. Her peeing has greatly decreased, and now it seems to be more out of spite for when her daddy goes on business trips… She’ll wait til he gets home and then try to pee on him or his side of the bed (while he’s in it of course!)

Wow I cant believe there is a page 3 already. I sure have missed a lot. I can’t believe its August either. This year sure has flown by fast. I am finding it hard to keep up with chat.

LBJ your arm looks painful I hope its feeling better. I am glad to hear you are closer to getting a working kitchen back in order.

I cant seem to comment to everything I am trying to get caught up on at least the reading of everything. I have tons of stuff to do. My mother-in-law had a heart attack on Saturday so we have been busy. She had a 100% block which they cleared out but she also has another blockage. They are trying to get her blood pressure back down and my father-in-law just called and said a specialist is coming in to see her.

So I hope everyone is doing okay. I wish I could comment more. I hope everyone has a great day and or week!

I’ve been picking them up and putting them in their litter box. They seem pretty confused by it all. It’s much harder to catch them at it though as they seem to pee however they’re sat whereas Mr Roger had a ‘peeing’ sit which we quickly learnt to anticipate. Fingers crossed they’ll learn soon!

Very amusing that she saves it for when daddy has come back from business trips and while he’s in it – how dare he leave, lol!

Well, our exciting news of the day is that we have officially traded our civil partnership certificate for a marriage one. It’s backdated so we’re claiming that it’s time travelling paradox (we’ve been married all along, except that if we hadn’t signed over today we wouldn’t have been married at all) and my wife has signed up for a British Sign Language course in case we have a deaf child. (I have a hearing loss myself and with this new autism diagnosis we think it would be harder to adopt so it would be easier to birth a child but I’ve been told I may have a 50/50 chance on their hearing). I haven’t had anyone to sign with in years.

Sindriona – Best wishes for your MIL. Must be a very difficult time and I hope the specialist is able to help.

I’ve never learned sign language, but my sister has picked up a good bit of it since she teaches students with a variety of disabilities. It seems like a wonderful skill to have, whether you know anyone that needs to communicate in that way or not.

As for my ML well last I heard they were going to have to massage her heart because the meds were not working and her heart still wasn’t beating correctly. Once she is stable and can go home she will have to go back again in 6 weeks and have another stint put in to clear the other blockage. So she will have to go through this all over again. She says she feels fine though. I haven’t seen her today because she is about 2 hours drive away. Thanks everyone for the well wishes.

My buns are shedding like crazy! I’m even getting handfuls if fur from Moshi’s head! Poor thing looks like someone gave him a really bad haircut and the shed lines above his nose make him look like he’s angry!

I’m thinking I should just start a thread for “the daily Duncan.”
Yesterday morning when I went in to check on Duncan I was greeted by his normal nosiness at the gate, but surprised to see a small pile of bunny poops in my laundry basket… which is on the opposite side of the gate. This made me suspicious because I hadn’t heard the hubby say anything about letting Duncan out in the morning before I got up, but I cleaned it up and we went about our normal day. Last night, my husband called my over the railing to inform me that Duncan was ON THE BED and that I should come see. This is really a breakthrough for us with Duncan, as until now we had no evidence that he was a decent jumper. His only real hops were running about the room and going in and out of the cage.. but no on the beds or over the gates. He’s apparently feeling more confident now and is starting to explore!

BM- Apparently that’s what he did! He was just standing there against the gate like he was innocent and waiting patiently… I know he can hear us coming down the hall toward the room (just the acoustics of the house) so there’s a good chance that he hopped back because he knows he’s supposed to leave the gate alone. The gate isn’t the best, it’s about 30″ (2.5ft), but he demolishes the NIC barriers I make and this one at least is solid from one end to the other so he can’t pull it apart. I may have to get creative and combine them.

Bam – that sucks. Is there a nest nearby or did you just get unlucky?

Tilly is angry at me… She tries to follow me out into the house and I usually am able to hold her off pretty well… This time she bonked her head on the door as it was closing, and apparently it’s completely my fault. I got the side glare, the cold shoulder, and the bunny butt in the span of about a minute.

We are just hanging our house today not doing much. Did make it to the gym for the second day in a row so I’m sure tomorrow I won’t be able to walk. I clipped goose’s nails today. I came out on the other end unscathed. He let me do his front paws with little fight. The back legs he wasn’t too thrilled about. I always hold him with his back up against my chest craddling him (I have to cut them by myself). is there a better way to hold him? This time he jumped up once and hit his head on my chin. He seems fine and is acting normal but I felt really bad. He isn’t usually jumpy while getting his nails cut but my husband was around today I think all the extra movement makes him nervous.

CT I will never forgot coming home to Rocky on the wrong side of the gate. It wasn’t long after that I decided they should just be free roam.

Oh and I remember Pumpkin peed on each of us once right after we got her. Our vet she was probably marking us as part of her warren. Apparently wild rabbits pee on each other so that their warren all smells like them or something?!

LBJ — I’ve found a wet spot on Marlee’s chin/chest before. Apparently she gets distracted by the bubbles in the water bottle when she’s drinking fast. I would more suspect this from Moshi! Maybe Leopold got distracted while drinking. Hopefully its just that.

CT that’s still pretty tall! Impressive! You need to set up a camera to record him!

Cottontail — Little Kieko can jump a baby gate that I can barely straddle so if he’s a jumper and being more than twice Kieko’s size, I imagine he’s found himself a new hobby!

Cottontail- that’s awesome. Recently Lilith has become a tad bit of an explorer. At first she despised all of the hardwood flooring in my house which was nice because I was able to confine her to a very large run in the den. Recently though she keeps leaving evidence of her presence else where haha (i.e. moving toys to hallways). And then this morning we found her all the way up a flight of hardwood stairs! But honestly I am happy to have an explorer over someone who isnt .

Bam- not sure if you saw it, but last month I took 7 wasp stings to the legs and “lower extremities” and could barely move for 2 days. I know your pain but hopefully you get better!

LBJ- hopefully its nothing!

The law bun & bam, Last year my husband drove our tractor over a wasp nest. He then jumped off the tractor and left it still running over the nest. I had to put on full jeans and a sweat shirt and everything tucked into itself to move the tractor. I thankfully didnt get stung.

LBJ, I will have to try something different next time. Thankfully the nails are done for now! Hope the wet spot is just the water bottle.

So my mother went blueberry picking yesterday. We got 5 quarts of yummy huge blueberries. They are organic too, so Moxie enjoyed a few yesterday after her grooming session. (She is shedding her wool and now has a big pink bald patch lol)

Moxie – Oooh, yummy. That sound delicious.

Little Lionhead – We’re now trialling the boys roam free, thankfully none of them have hopped onto the bed while we’ve been out (I’ve seen George do it when we’ve been on it) and our bed is pee free. Unfortunately, George keeps peeing on me. Not my wife. Just me. I’m taking it as a compliment, lol.

The Bun Law – That’s cute. I’m impressed she made it all the way up. Can she get down too?

Moxie, that sounds so yummy! I’ve picked about 4 quarts so far but our blueberries are so small compared to yours! I’ve picked lots of raspberries too though and black currants that I’m planning to make jelly of.

OMG, it’s been a crazy week at work, so I’m so behind…I can’t believe it’s August already and you guys are far too busy for me to try to catch up with everything. I will say that I also hate all bugs with stingers, lol. We spent all day Saturday at the pool and I netted at least half a dozen drowned red wasps out of the water. It’s that time of year here, for sure.

I MUST do some nail trimming tonight…the piggies claws are getting crazy, and I’m going to try to attempt to trim Toby’s back nails at least a little bit. KitKat is shedding like a monster too, so I will be trying to brush her fuzzy butt tonight. Hopefully she doesn’t growl at me too much, lol.

In other news, my child is self-propelled now and he is CONSTANTLY trying to eat rabbit food, LOL! I can’t leave him on the floor in the living room for more than about 30 seconds before he takes off towards Toby’s food bowl. I’ve dried up spilled bunny water of the floor more times in the last 2 weeks than I have EVER before. Definitely have to come up with a solution for that.

I’m very jealous of all you guys picking your own blueberries! They must be so nice!

LBJ Usagi gets water on his chin from time to time. He drinks from a bowl I think that’s why it happens. I even have pictures of water droplets on his chin. I wouldn’t worry too much about it. I know how you feel about not doing anything. I have had days like that. Today I have pretty much all my house work done and I am bored. I don’t really know what to do with myself. I could vacuum but I don’t feel like it. I feel like doing nothing yet I want to do something. Its weird.

Fresh blueberries sounds super yummy! When I lived in Florida a co-worker of my husband’s had a mini farm and grew them and he would let us come and pick as much as we liked. We would only get a little we wouldn’t want to be greedy. He said he didn’t mind because a lot would go to waste. I would make pies and cobblers, and put them in my oatmeal and of course eat them plain too.

BunsandDolls Can you use baby gates? My grandson is here most of the week and he is always trying to get into the dog’s food and water. I cant use gates because we have an open floor plan. So I have to put the food up for a little while so he can crawl around. You may have to do that. We sometimes have to put him in a pack and play which is like a play pen when he is playing in the living room.

I feel everyone’s pain when it comes to shedding pets. The bunnies went through a horrible molt awhile back and now its my cats. I was brushing them and fur was flying everywhere which is unusual for my cat being they have long fur. I cant get a break from fur. Its also time for me to shave the dogs. I HATE shaving them. I wish I could take them to the groomers. I have always shaved my oldest dog but I have taken my other dog to the groomers. He gets such horrible panic attacks its takes hours to groom him. My vet told me to give him Benadryl before grooming him to make it easier so I am going to try that.

Thanks again everyone for the well wishes for my mother-in-law. They had to use a defibulator and restart her heart to get it to beat right. Her blood pressure is better. So hopefully she can go home tomorrow and come back in 6 weeks for a second sugery to have a stint put in to clear the other blockage out. So she is doing better.

Sindriona – glad to hear your MiL is doing better. My great uncle was put in the hospital yesterday for heart issues too. 90% blockage and they put a stint in today.

I can’t really use baby gates, unless I want to lock the baby in the hallway, LOL. Our living room is open to the kitchen so there isn’t really anywhere to put one. The pack and play has been a LIFESAVER lately. I’ve just started picking up Toby’s food and putting it on the bar in the evenings when we are here. it stays on the floor with him all day and all night while we sleep, so he should be fine without it for a few hours after work. KitKat’s has been safe so far, since it’s kept in her cage area so it’s not as easy to get to.
Guinea pig nail clipping was a success tonight, as was KitKat brushing! Though I still haven’t managed to clip Toby’s back nails….I will have to get husband assistance for that, haha.

Wow there’s a lot going on for people health-wise. My thoughts go out to anyone’s family members who are not doing well.

My mother in law started dialysis this week. They put a port in her arm back in 2012 as preparation but up until now she’s had enough functioning of her kidneys to not have to start. It’s scary and there’s a lot that I don’t quite understand yet.

My grandmother broke her back last week! She’s going to be ok, just in a lot of pain. She has a home health nurse right now. Stubborn and refusing to get a life line!

The bunnies are shedding here too! It’s been going on for weeks!! When will it end!!

Moxie, Rocky feels Moxie’s pain. He’s finally growing some patches of hair back in his bald spots!

LBJ— When people have a big business for blueberries they have so many miles of fields, and they have big machines they use to rake them up and then sell them to stores.
But if you just have a little farm for regular people to just come pick what they want they usually have “high” bushes. (From what I could tell you they aren’t that high, they are like hip level? something like that) So that it’s fairly easy to pick them.

LLH— Oh no your poor grandmother! Hopefully she heals quickly!
And I’ll have to post a picture of Moxie, it’s quite funny.

Sukka has made me so proud these past few days! We visited the vet yesterday to get a quick check-up and see about the possibility of Sukka having coccidia or something as the reason behind her uneven pooping habits of late – Sukka was such a little trooper! She was absolutely unfazed by the trip to the vet, the waiting room, the vet’s office, and the trip back. The vet laughed and said she rarely came across such calm young rabbits. Sukka just ate hay in her carrier the entire trip, and ran around the vet’s office sniffing every last corner (and leaving behind a few pee puddles as she went…). She was just the very essence of relaxation!

Of course, the clean bill of health from the vet was awfully cheery as well – she gave us the coccidia meds for both bunnies just in case, since the meds are quite safe, but said it’s likely that Sukka’s digestive troubles have just been caused by messed up stomach flora caused by her (accidental) change in diet when she came to us. She should be alright now, and her poops are looking better day by day! Our apartment no longer smells like a barn due to her issues, which is also great.

So, my bun Luna has finally conquered her fear of my extremely high energy and neurotic BC/Aussie and comes over to ask for craisins and pets every time I sit down at my desk to study (I’m currently in training to become an EMT) which is making it very hard to study at all ?. She and the dog just sit at my feet and stare at me (or in the bun’s case climb my leg) until they get an INSANE amount of pets, a treat, and in Max’s (the dog) case gets the ball thrown till my arm falls off ???

I have no idea about birthdays or how old Pumpkin and Shamrock are. I’ve decided we will celebrate “Pumpkin’s Day” on Halloween (we got her Oct. 16th) and “Shamrock’s Day” on St. Patrick’s Day (we got him March 11). It makes sense that such spoiled buns would have a whole holiday to themselves!!

I shouldn’t say I have no idea about ages….guesstimate is around 3 or 4 for both of them.

CT–he even has a tiny bald spot by his eye and had one more patch that size! The hair is growing in nicely though. I did panic when I first noticed it though!

Si is becoming more and more affectionate! I love it, he is always coming up to me for pats now, bumping his head against me and has given me a couple love bites. Totally smitten! I can see myself becoming addicted to buns and getting another! Eeek! We went on a little outside adventure today and he loved it (photos in my new post in the Lounge).

We have to move to the house across the street over the weekend :/ they have to clean our aircon ducts and replace our HVAC. Such a pain in the butt with the 2 dogs, bunny and joey. It is fully furnished which is great but now I have to bunny proof that house, and make sure the dogs dont get on the furniture (they are allowed free access to the furniture in my house). I know first world problems rights.

CT – Had to comment on Lord Duncan’s fence jumping antics! What a cheeky little buggar. You so need to film him secretly.

Welp I thought it’s as good a day as any to give ya’ll an update on everything lol!  I’ll section it off on what it’s an update about so you can read what you want. 

Moxie’s Birthday– She had a lot of floor time today and I made her a jumbo salad that was made up of various greens, fresh hand picked blueberries, a grape that I chopped up and some carrot slices. I couldn’t run to the store today (the store is half an hour away) so gifts will have to wait until tomorrow. The camera decided to die right as I wanted to take photos of course though.

Chickens– The chickens are doing good. We are down to 39 now because we had to sell a breed because that breed was very “vicious”. That breed was plucking out feathers of the other chickens, and we had a couple that got severe injuries from them, so we decided it would be best for everybody if they were rehomed. 

My rooster had a crow-off with the rooster up the road the other day and it was hilarious! We now have 2 other roosters starting to crow. It’s very funny to hear them trying to crow for the first time, they sound like they are choking/sprained a muscle! ha ha ha

Tilly and Paris (the puppies we rescued)– They are doing okay, and have gotten much bigger! They still have some issues from being neglected before we got them that I don’t think will go away though. They still have food aggression, so Tilly CAN NOT have any type of food/treat around another dog and Paris can’t have food around another dog. Tilly is worse though about food, the other day a HOUSE FLY landed on her food and she went after it teeth bared, barking and lunging lol. The good thing is they don’t have food aggression towards people, so it could be worse. They are getting better though. They are learning to all share their toys too! And the most exciting part of the update: Zero and Paris are getting along good and have even spent a few nights together! Tilly and Zero are okay while supurvised, but we aren’t trusting them at night yet. Tilly and Paris can’t be together with Zero because they start playing and get very hyper/obnoxious and it get’s Zero doesn’t like it much but they again, are getting MUCH better! Oh they are learning their manners/tricks! They know “Sit” “Lay down” “Paw” and we are working on “Stay” which they almost know. Both of Paris’ ears are up and Tilly’s ears are trying to. Right now she has “bunny ears” where the tips are still flopped. They are wicked cute and are LOVE BUGS. Tilly will just sit on your lap and lick you FOREVER if you’d let her! They are so sweet and I’m really looking forward to when they are completely trained and well behaved.  Here are some photos of them:

On the subject of birthdays, I don’t know when either one of my buns’ actual birthday is, lol. We celebrate homecoming days instead of birthdays.

I took a mental health day from work today because I absolutely despise my “real job” and needed a long weekend. I used the day to do a lot of cleaning that I’ve been putting off, and I finally rearranged the living room to put KitKat’s cage in a more permanent location.

I still have plans to get her a dog crate instead of that cage to use as her den, but it works for now. it’s not like she’s ever in there anyway, lol.

Just a small update: Ox’s eye has been watering a lot the last 3 days. Took him in to the vet earlier today and he was diagnosed with a bacterial infection. I was given some eyedrops and I have to apply a drop to both his eye and his nose twice a day. I’m not worried about getting the drops into the eye, but the nose??? I feel like this is going to be an unpleasant 10 days.

So I left Luna out all night for the first time yesterday…it actually went surprisingly well! She was quiet all night long (hallelujah!) and didn’t chew a single thing (can I get an amen?). I’m so wishing she was spayed already tho, a local rescue just got in the CUTEST male mini lop and just ?…but I don’t have anywhere to put him until Luna is spayed and I can bond them…Poohey! I even got the ok from my mom, oh why could you not be spayed already Luna? Why? ?. So today, my oh and I are going to a cook-out, I’ve been up since eight fixing a dessert to take with us. Its almost done except for the whipped cream topping. I suck at trying to make a meringue, so whipped cream it is! And I love my other half, he went out twice to help me with getting the right flour and the custard powder so I could make the filling.

So I switched Luna’s vet last week and I think we may finally have an antibiotic to help with her runny nose! Plus, I think I have the only bun that comes RUNNING when I say the words ‘syringe’ and ‘antibiotics’ ?. It’s not even like these antibiotics taste good…I accidentally (or I may have possibly tried it to see if it really tasted as good as Luna seems to think…) got some on my finger when I was filling the syringe and then ate something and oh my gosh the taste was horrendous ???. I’m really of the opinion that Luna can’t taste anything or has something wrong mentally???

If BB has taught me anything it’s to always be paranoid and do your research whenever your rabbit is prescribed an unknown medication. So, I contacted a second exotic vet to get their opinion on the eyedrops that Ox was prescribed and I was told to stop using them immediately. I have an appointment with this new vet tomorrow. I contacted the vet who prescribed the eyedrops and he said he’s been using this treatment for years but I still have my concerns seeing as rabbit medicine is constantly improving.

It’s just so frustrating because we take our bunnies to these professionals and we expect that they know what they’re doing and that they aren’t going to cause additional harm to our buns.

This morning Yohio decided it was time for some serious cuddling at 5.15 am. There was nothing I could do, he insisted.

In other news, I think that when I get my R+F payday tomorrow, I’m going to buy the new pen and some girly decor for KitKat’s area. Toby’s is pretty basic with his grey carrier and blue rug, but I want hers to be a girly paradise. Luckily she seems to be mostly potty trained (some poops outside the box, but never any tinkle) and I think it’ll get even better when we get her spayed later this month. I should be able to buy her a fuzzy bed and things like that. I could never buy anything like that for my last girl bunny because she just ate anything fuzzy, haha.

Sindriona – I get my R+F paycheck today or tomorrow, so I think I’m going to start with the pen, the HK rug, and the strawberry house…but who knows, I may not be able to contain myself and I might buy all of it, LOL. I’ve been doing some research on bedding for the guinea pig cage as well…I tried fleece once and gave up pretty quickly, but I think I’m going to have to give it another try. Sawdust bedding is so messy, and it’s always stuck in the carpet – now that the tater tot is self-propelled, he’s been spotted trying to eat sawdust, and I’m pretty sure that’s not good, haha.

BunsandDolls, oh mys gosh that area is going to be ohmygosh adorable ?. I may have to pick up that adorable little strawberry house for Luna now ???

Ughhhh, my instructor is SLAMMING us with an amazing amount of homework due tomorrow…it’s all anatomy (so boringgggg) and since I did Biology freshman year of high school I remember nada ?. Plus I get to memorize so many medical and Latin terms my head is spinning. For the first time in my life I am currently thankful for the fact that my
mother made me take Latin all of middle school and freshman and sophomore year of high school ?. Plus my dog DESPERATELY needs a good couple hour trail ride or hike but I do not foresee myself having the time needed to do that with him for at LEAST another week. Someone please pray he doesn’t murder me!!!

Oh! It also looks like thanks to this stupid drought my well might be drying up. This is just wonderful news ?????

abeautifulhope, Barney is the cutest ever! Although, I don’t think there will be much difference in waiting until Luna is spayed. Either way, they will need a separate area/housing until fully bonded which can take weeks, and unfortunately sometimes months! You can do a lot of things pre-bonding to help make the bond quicker once they are both altered! I say go for it! But I’m a bad influence with my 8. LOL

Poor Nora got a sore hock. Aaron noticed it this weekend while he was holding her. My vet thinks it’s from the C&C cage flooring the Tans & her have been on (thanks to the Tans horrible litterbox habits). With some GENTLE encouraging from a few on her, I decided to try her with the fluffy/lop group! She has been doing really well. Nora & Lacey still have it out for each other though — for those of you who remember when I bonded Lacey into the group & Nora was a tyrant to her!

I still can’t understand why rabbits are so awesome. Why did I wait so long!!!!!!

tanlover14, I so want to pick the little guy up soooooooo badly. Like ohmygosh badly!!! But if I brought him home he’d have to take up residence in my bathroom because the house we’re currently in doesn’t have anywhere for him to go…but I’m most likely going to be moving right before I get Luna spayed (which is why I wasn’t planning on getting another bun until she was spayed ) so then another bun could probably get moved in as well (I’d be able to dictate where everything can go and my sister’s bun would not be moving with me, it’d be staying with my mother and not have to room with me anymore *happy dance*). Plus I just discovered that the local ambulance company only does 48on 96off shifts. Blehhhhh. Do you know how hard it’s going to be to figure out how to get horses, dogs, and buns all fed/watered/kept alive while I’m gone for 48 hours every four days!?! I didn’t want to have to get a roommate when I move or stay in the house with my mom but it looks like I might have to. Unless anyone else has some ideas!?! ?. Horses aren’t that difficult since they are on pasture with a couple of huge 300 gallon water buckets…so my sister (who also keeps her horses with mine) can just check on them once or twice…but my dog and buns are a whole ‘nother story. Grrrrrrr. Silly ambulance scheduleeeee.

This tunnel I bought for Yohio last week, it was on sale and they only had one left. So now Bam must get a new tunnel too from someplace else =)

LBJ I live in a small town in Oklahoma we do not have any stores that sell single cookies. We have a couple of donut shops but no bakery go figure.

bam I like that tunnel. I use to have a tunnel for both the rabbits and cats to play in and I went to the store the other day to get another one and the store no longer carries it. I seen a tunnel set on Amazon that is a 3 way tunnel system for rabbits. I think I may pick it up.

Don’t you get at least a decently long lunch? Just ride back home and do a quick feeding. I have a water bowl/Pellet bowl/hay rack that can last Lilith 24 hours (I assume it would last 48 hours but never tested it) because my schedule sometimes necessitated it. I think it would definitely be possible. I don’t know about dogs, walking them is a whole thing haha, but thats why I am a rabbit man .

On the cookie situation, I wish I could get singles, but we only have a place that sells in packages of 6 at the smallest . And I quite frankly couldn’t resist eating all 6 in one sitting .

I need to get some bunny tunnels, but it will have to wait another couple of weeks. We’re going to be moving next weekend (not this one coming, but the one after), and I have to figure out how I am going to set up the new place for everyone. I’ve had some unexpected changes to our plans and schedules lately that I’m still trying to wrap my brain around… so we’ll see how it goes.

Moxie isn’t a big fan of tunnels. I got her a cardboard tunnel that was rectangle and plenty big, but she wouldn’t even step foot in it.

CT- I totally understand, my brain is malfunctioning most days, lol. R+F=Rodan+Fields…it’s a skincare company that I rep for, lol. It’s my second job – aka: the job I actually LOVE doing as opposed to the one I’m stuck doing, hahaha.

Pretty sure I’m going to order the pen, the tunnel, and the HK rug today…so exciting!

bam I had the same problem with cookies or anything sweet. I have no self control with stuff like that. hehe

The Law Bun, I never thought about that…but it also depends on where I’m stationed. If I’m in the Sutter branch it would be no problem to nip over and take care of everyone quickly, but if I’m up by the prison (my preferred area), or in the valley the drive just gets to be about 20-30min there and back…and I don’t think the lunch breaks are all that long. With the company up here basically you get on the ambulance and don’t get off till either your shift is over or someone gets in to relieve you. My instructor has been on the truck for seven SOLID days before, she’s also one of the few medics up this way but still ? I’m also looking into transferring to Sac once I get about a year or two under my belt because the pay is ASTRONOMICALLY better, and it’s only about a 45 minute/hour drive from where I live now/where I keep my horses ?

Ughhhhh, so my well looks like it may be drying up where I keep my horses…which means until our well guy gets out to figure things out I get to trek water back and forth 2-4 X a day since my portable water tank only holds 65 gallons and between the live stock dogs and the horses they go through like 300 gallons a day when the temp spikes (like it is right now). So fun…not ?

LBJ: That’s so nice of your hubby! I can’t remember the last time I had a cookie. I want one.

Oooh, my self control with cookies/sweet things is pretty good except a few select things.

Do any if you watch the Great British Bake Off? We watched episode two today and it was biscuit week (cookies, to Americans, I suppose) and it was awesome.

My wife wants to do the bake along (bake the recipes on the show and send in your photos – they show some of them on the side-along programme called An Extra Slice) but I’m a really fussy eater so we’ve agreed to semi-do our own thing.

We’re going to make macaroons and an Oreo cake tomorrow (obvious my choice, since we didn’t have time during cake week).

abeautifulhope, what a pain! What kind of horses do you have? I ride! I used to have two Appies & a Quarter but then I moved to Pittsburgh & had to leave them behind with my family. I ride at a local barn doing hunter/jumping. Absolutely loveeee it!

Poor Noras sore hock is healing nicely! Yay for that. I’ve been bonding her to the other group since Sat. & they have been doing awesome. I ended up separating her off with Zoe & Tucker while I went to work and they did FABULOUS together but there was a little bit of aggression when I put them all back together when I got home. Nothing bad, just nipping & a little chasing. 2 steps forward, 1 step back! And it sucks b/c it’s something like having to go to work! My problem, not theirs! I’ll have all this weekend — Thursday night to Tuesday morning to bond non-stop so hopefully that will push them over the edge.

abeautifulhope – I hope you can get your schedule worked out…I can’t imagine being on a shift for a few days, much less a whole week!

tanlover – glad Nora is healing nicely! hopefully you’ll be able to make real progress with the bonding over those several days.

We are planning on getting KitKat spayed probably next week, so a few weeks after that we can start bonding her with Toby. So far there’s been no real aggression between them for the couple of times they’ve managed to get close to each other. I’m hoping it’s smooth sailing once she’s spayed. I’ll still keep them “based” in opposite corners for a long while though. I ordered her new pen this morning, and her rug last night, so I can’t wait to start setting up her corner.

I got a couple of the things I bought the rabbits online yesterday. One of the items was a Prevue Hendryx Nature’s Hideaway Grass Tunnel Toy. In the picture someone’s cat was in it. I also seen a pic with a big rabbit with it so I thought it would be a good item for the rabbits. It looked just like the picture however even tiny Kilala couldn’t fit in it. So that was disappointing. I put it up. I wont be leaving it in their room when I am not there because I am afraid Usagi might get his neck stuck in a hole or Kilala might try to fit inside and then get stuck. I was imagining all kinds of things that could happen. I am just going to put it out for them to chew on and play with when I am in there.

I was so saddened when I woke and saw that Hannah had passed this morning I hope buddy and her parents are doing ok. She wa stage most beautiful bunny. I don’t remember what her BB online name is but I hope she’s doing ok

Yes, it’s MissD’s Hannah. I’ve been watching for a post in the Rainbow Bridge but didn’t feel it was appropriate to start one for her myself. (Forum Leaders often do for other Forum Leaders to be supportive.) She had received many comments on her post in Diet and Care about Hannah’s head tilt. I am really so saddened by the news. Buddy and Hannah are on Facebook, and have recieved many condolences there today as well.

I think she was beautiful. It will be hard for Buddy.

Hi guys! Just wanted to check in and say hi…let you know I’ve been creeping on the chat, but haven’t really had time to post!

Quick bunny update: Pumpkin continues to have poopy butt issues so we have cut out veggies altogether. Unfortunately for Rocky this means he really only gets veggies whenever we can sneak them in to him…I feel horrible when she catches us! Rocky’s bald spots are filling in….I was going to say nicely, but, no they look very janky and not nice at all LOL! Other than that they are both adorable but shedding like crazy still!

As for me, I’ve been super busy training for my half-marathon in Sept. Every Saturday morning has been dedicated to a really long run. I did 11 miles last Saturday.

Oh, I really thought Miss D was at least a semi-professional photographer. Her pics are always amazing. The loss of Hannah is just so incredibly sad, I really thought she’d make it but us humans are so small and powerless when it comes to things like these.

Tanlover, I have an appendix QH gelding (my hunter…he’s just a trail horse now because showing is not my thing and he has a funky body and kept injuring himself), an ex PMU PerchX mare, two QHs (they’re two of my sisters), a pony, and an old retired Arab mare that taught three of my siblings how to ride ☺️ And I’m glad Ms. Nora’s hock is doing better and I hope that the marathon bonding gets them to be buddies ?

BunsandDolls and Sindronia, I hope I get my schedule figure out too…being in the medical field (at least around here) just comes with some crazy hours…especially because there’s not a whole ton of EMS providers…most everyone goes into the fire department vs ambulance EMS because they’re all young guys and that’s way cooler and the girls all love a fire fighter in uniform (not that I can disagree ?. Most of my friends are in fire and the guys are pretty cute ??)

School this week is just insane ?. My poor dog is going CRAZY and I won’t have time to exercise him properly till Sunday because I have class in the morning and afternoon tomorrow and am meeting someone for lunch (I think it’s a date? Idk, just met the guy at class Wed and he asked me out for lunch Sat and said he was paying…first time I’ve ever been on a date so I would definitely appreciate any and all advice! lol. Moving every six months from the age 12 on is not conducive to a social life) so I can’t run home and let him into the backyard either. It’s going to take like 5 hours to get him to a semi sane state Sunday! And I have church in the AM, Bible Study in the PM, and then classes again Monday that I have a ton of homework to get through before I show up there. The amount of homework for this class is insaneeeeeee ?

I’m so sad about Hannah. Her and Buddy were one of my bunny OTPs. I remember so clearly when she posted about her bonding adventures with Buddy and Hannah. Her photos were also such a huge source of joy for me. They cheered me up everytime I saw them.

Hey all. just checking in, I’ve been pretty scarce lately haha, had some things going on with school and family and such. well, myself and rocket are doing excellent. he has an appointment for the 19th for his neuter. beyond nervous and also excited because he’s being so freakin’ bad I can’t wait for him to go back to being the sweet little bun bun he was prior to becoming the hormonal mess he is today.

LBJ – Honestly, it’s not what comes to mind for chicken color, but it does look nice… and you could always gets some appliance epoxy paint and jazz up the stove if you’re not happy with it. There are some videos on youtube on how to do it. I like the wood grain look, actually, with the cabinets and around the nobs… but you could paint the sides, backing, etc. of your range since the hubby seems happy to take things apart and put them back together.
When you say brushed nickle, are you referring to the overhead cabinets? Or the ones going in the hole? Or both?

In other news; Tilly and Duncan seem to be getting on wonderfully, today. I’m considering attempting an overnight, but haven’t decided yet… still about 2 hours to decide.

LBJ – I understand. I just figured that if your big purchases go anything like mine, that it might be a little while for you to stare at the stove in your kitchen. For example: we saved up money to buy an elliptical a couple years ago and actually bought it… but then it was faulty, so it was returned and replaced with another faulty unit… and since the whole process took about a month of frustration we got a refund and bought a bed instead…We still have no exercise equipment. lol
The nickel should play off nicely on the microwave and your future stove. I assume you have metal finish fridge as well?

LBJ, I like the blue color, it’s like Gauloise caporal blue which is very romantic (not girly romantic) and elegant.

Tossu, who has never even properly nipped anyone, and who is just the least violent rabbit ever, almost bit me just now! He and Sukka were having a bit of a face-off through the fence, and when I went to shoo Tossu away from her he whirled around with his mouth open, probably out of instinct. He looked so shocked at himself! He’s been following me around relentlessly since, and lying down at my feet whenever I stop. I think it’s his way of trying to apologize.

LBJ- better to have a awesome microwave for the next few years in exchange for a bit more work! Sounds like the kitchen is coming along super nicely!

I simply hate when after you lose a pet you have a slip up. When we were at the store we were looking at cat treats and I said “We should totally get these, Spring loves this and Cleo does too.” My slip up was pointed out and I literally almost went to tears right there at the store! It was terrible. :^/

On a slightly better note my dog had a normal poop yesterday. I’m starting to transition her back on regular dog food. (For those of you who hadn’t read the post I posted last monday on Spring’s rainbow bridge thread, my dog got colitis literally like 24 hours after Spring died and was pooping out blood and mucus ect. The vets think it was caused by stress so we think Spring’s death/dog food switch/ect. played an impact on her) I’m thinking she’ll be okay now but still am keeping a close eye on her since it has only been a week.

So tired… want to sleep but have to stay up to give Tilly ointment. X_x

RBB- I think there’s something in the water… Tilly attacked Zoey (my cat) today and got herself injured; and usually Tilly is a ball of love and kisses.

Moxie- I completely understand… I’ve caught myself in very similar situations. It hurts, but the more you find yourself slip, eventually you can smile at it and enjoy the memories instead. Even my vet slipped up a bit today and asked how’s Peter’s eye? when he meant Tilly. We talked about him a little after finishing up with Tilly, and talked about some other rainbow-bridge babies as well… It always hurts, but eventually the good memories overtake the hurt and you can smile again. I’m glad that your dog is doing better. {{good vibes to both of you}}

I got nipped last night by somebunny in the household. My two were fighting and I went to stop it and got bit on the hand, can I say ouchies. Both buns are fine however, I noticed tonight that our girl who is a lop doesn’t want to be touched around the head. So in the morning, I am going to be calling a vet and seeing about getting her in for an appointment and Tanis in as well. Both buns are seperated but still in the same room together, I am taking this precaution as I don’t want fur flying while I try to sleep so I can go pick up the other half in the morning.

I sure have missed a lot again. There is a lot going on here.

LBj I think brushed nickel would be a nice choice for cabinet hardware. I hope you can come up with a solution for fixing your scratch. I had a stainless microwave years ago. I have black appliances in my last and current home. I don’t really have much experience with how to fix scratches in that or how to maintain stainless we didn’t have our microwave long.

I always fall behind on the weekends! I didn’t know her, but I’m so sorry to hear about Hannah…it’s always hard to lose a furry family member.

Sounds like everybun was feeling bitey this weekend. KitKat nipped at me when I was reaching in to straighten her bed up yesterday. But she’s hormonal and cranky, so she’s always growling at me. I can’t WAIT to get her spayed. I hope it chills her out a little bit, lol.

I did get her pen in on Saturday though, so yay! Still waiting on her new rug, and I’m going to get her a blanket to have in there instead of that pink bed…she’s a digger and she’s already pulled half the fluff out. But, otherwise, She seems to like the setup. I have also put the lid on that hay box since I took the picture. I forgot to put it on, and about .01 seconds later, she flipped the box and got hay everywhere, hahaha.

Well I made my dog a tutu from scratch today. It was super easy, it only called for tulle, a non-roll elastic and some sew in velcro. I will have to post a photo, it turned out adorable!!! Here is a link to the website that I got the idea from:

Snickers tutu is light pink and a slightly darker pink. It’s hard to tell the difference so I’m going to use more contrasting colors next time, like pink or blue, or purple/green something like that.

And they are SUPER easy to make! (Coming from me and I hate crafts lol) The only trouble I had was that I miss judged and the tulle part wasn’t as long as I had hoped. And the other thing the didn’t mention was that if you have a small dog (like mine) I wouldn’t take too much off. Because if your chihauhua puppy has a 5 inch waist and you take 2 inches off that’s half it’s waist. My dog’s waist isn’t too big, and I took off like an inch and a half and it was much too small especially after the velcro was attached.

^I didn’t make that very clear lol. If you take too much off of the elastic band, it’s not good.

Moxie, pictures will likely be required. Have you made your bunny a tutu yet?

The law bun—–No I haven’t made Moxie a tutu yet, I’m gonna have to pick up some new elastic for the waist first. Then I will make one for Moxie, Tilly and Paris. (Even though I know none of them will keep it on I’m going to do a photo shoot and maybe even a tutu challenge thread where everybody needs to make one for their pets and post a photo! )

I’ve seen a few pictures of bunnies in some onesies floating around the net. While ingenious to keep the bunny from messing with the stitches from a spay or neuter, I’ve gone omg at the sight of it.

thanks everyone! well, I’m pleased to say the neuter went great. they kept me updated the whole time, and apparently it went so well they finished ahead of schedule. and of course, Rocket made tons of friends with the staff. everyone thought he was an angel (are you freaking kidding me? hahaha) they let him sample some of the organic garden out back, trimmed his claws AND one of the gals gave him a brand spanking new blanket. can’t be that! when I called and learned I could pick him up they were all commenting on his grooming habit of his webkin bunny he sleeps with and how cute it is. when I picked him up he seemed no worse for wear but was nonetheless happy to get home. as for myself, currently i’m perched on the couch. resting my nerves and supervising to make sure he doesn’t dig at himself or the shaved part of his front paw where the IV was. any tips on administering the oral medication I’ve been given? (mouth syringe)

So I just cleaned out and vacuumed the car (about time it was done too!). We need to get it fixed tomorrow at a shop. *sigh*
I am using my mother’s laptop (brand new) and the keys barely respond. it is super annoying! Anywho, we gave the chickens some fresh zucchini today from our garden for the first time today. They loved it! And Henrietta laid her second egg today. We are just waiting for the other chickens to decide to follow her lead soon!

well my first attempt at a bunny burrito was an epic fail. I had to get the medication into him somehow, so I put the 1ml shot onto a teaspoon of kibble pellet and he gobbled it up. unorthodox I guess, but it’ll have to do until he’s better and I can work on medicating him properly.

AaronJ. After binks was neutered I just let him nibble on the tip of the syringe (he likes to nibble things) and when he did it I shot it in! It made it super easy for me

Oh AND, exciting news, we are redoing our bathroom! (we honestly have to redo the whole house but one room at a time) It’s going to be a tan color with white trim. We also got some nice tiles to put on the floor. We still have to pick out the shower curtain and stuff, but at least we are getting there lol!

I forgot to say I hope everyone has a great weekend. I am going to see my mom and step dad. Its his birthday. I am not sure what else we are doing anyway have a great weekend everyone!

It has been a pretty uneventful day today… We went to the store yesterday and I bought a new pair of jeans (made sure to buy the right pair this time. I bought “short” instead of “regular” last time so the flare didn’t start in the right spot so it was very unflattering and made my legs look very short ect. so I made sure to get “regular” this time)

Okay now has anybody noticed how the clothes style and music is going back to the stlye of the ’70’s/’80’s?? The acid washed jeans, big sweaters, fake snake-skin legging pants, sweat pant type things. Just thought I would mention it.

LBJ— I hate buying clothes it just depresses me lol! Like when you think you are a size or two smaller than you are and it’s just like nope! The jeans I bought were $20, and that’s an “expensive” pair for me lol! I always end up shopping forever (the dressing room people with the keys must hate me lol) because I need to try on several different styles and sizes ect. to make sure I get something that will look OK and feel OK. And my jeans always wear away on the inner thigh parts because I have thighs so my legs rub together. :/

LBJ— Well it’s quite hard to tell what it’s supposed to be for style frankly. lol!

Where do you buy your jeans? Mine were just a pair from the brand l.e.i. at Walmart.

I lose all of my jeans due to the inner thigh of my jeans ripping. Because I wear the jeans so much they just can’t handle it lol. And what I hate? When it’s worn and thin and you aren’t sure if you should wear them because you don’t know if they will rip while you are out lol!

I’ve never heard of that store, they must not have that around here. Over here it is either Walmart, thrift store or over priced mall lol!

I’ve actually never thought of shopping at Von Mar…there’s one in the mall over here but I always thought it seemed to fancy smanshy…I didn’t even realize they have jeans! I spend a lot of jeans sometimes too, but I try to get them when there are BOGO deals. I usually buy Silvers b/c they last the longest!

I rarely buy new clothes, it’s all just so expensive! I normally just get new clothes when I need it, not when I want it. It’s splurging if I buy a $30 pair of shoes. (But there’s a pair I really want and they are pretty cute for being high heeled boots for autumn! I might just need to splurge! )*sigh*

I bought some new staples a few months ago and I need to replace some more things but I find it all so tedious so I’ve been putting it off. H&M is fairly close buy and their stuff is pretty affordable so that’s where I’ve been getting things. Forever 21 also tends to have good sales. I needed new jeans and they had some on sale for $8 and they fit how I wanted them to. I was so pumped to find them.

Working on re-doing our bathroom at the moment. uhg

Had some unexpected findings while pulling the flooring out of the bathroom, so some things are on hold. Uhg! We still have to do some touch-ups with the spackle, paint, take out our vanity/sink and toilet, fix the floor, put the new flooring tiles on the floor, then put the toilet and sink back in. That does not include putting a new mirror up and hopefully some new shelves soon. Hopefully it will look good once it is all done!

Just curious (Hopefully it’s fine to ask) if anybody has every bought the BarkBox subscription? Was it worth it? I am considering purchasing it for my dog.

Sadly I have not heard from MK or Midnight and I often wonder what they are both up to and how they are doing – they are so precious to me, just like you are Moxie. I miss having my 3 M’s altogether. I can only hope that they will pop up on BB again one day. Then again, I miss a lot of member’s that slowly drifted off. I get it – stuff happens in life and this takes 2nd place, but it doesn’t stop me from thinking about them and wondering…..

I hear from MB and Tokii all the time too and they are doing super well, so no need to worry. If I thought you were worried I would have let you know sooner, sorry! How wonderful you are doing your bathroom Moxie – that’s next on my list BUT not for a while! I need to recover from the kitchen reno. It almost did my sanity in, ha ha ha ha! I wish I could post pic’s to show you, it really is amazing and everything I wanted it to be.
I also moved Henry into my bedroom – not so much moved HIM, just his set up. I was worried he wouldn’t come out and hang with me, but he does! So I worried for no reason. I am desperate to try and keep the living area’s a little less FLUFFY, ha ha ha!

I haven’t heard from them either and was wondering about Tokii. I don’t think I have seen her on since her rabbit had babies. I hope everyone is good. I am sure they are just busy. Its hard to find time sometimes to log in and chat. I would love to make more comments on here myself.

I hate shopping for jeans myself. I am5’2 and they never seem to have my size at the local stores. I went to Kohl’s one day and they had and I am not kidding you 1 pair of size 2 petite jeans. Not one style but 1 pair. I had to buy them. Luckly I liked them.

I have bought clothes from forever 21 once and they all shrunk from one washing so I haven’t purchased anything from there since.

Moxie You never know what you are going to find during a remodel. I am sure it will turn out great. Its just time consuming. We had a small kitchen remodel done last year and it took 3 months to get done. We couldn’t believe it took that long to get done but we are really happy now that its all over.

I also go through a lot of jeans, especially now that I wear black jeans at work. They’re really not in great condition after just a few weeks, and I should always have nice-looking work clothes. Thankfully, the jeans that stop being presentable enough for work become daily use jeans quite efficiently!

Jeeeesus, Tossu is shedding like crazy right now! I just spent almost an hour stripping him of his loose fur with his Furminator, and I feel like it had absolutely no effect on the amount of hair still left for him to drop. He got really bored, though, so I decided to let him take a break. I’ll probably have to continue later today. I ended up ordering a few grooming stones from the tack store on a whim, since those work really well on horses… let’s hope they work on bunnies too!

It would be nice if he could just stop shedding, though. It sucks worrying about how much hair he’s ingesting whilst grooming, and yet being unable to actually get all that loose hair off him before he does!

In other news, I signed both Tossu and Sukka up for a rabbit intestinal parasite study my university’s veterinary researchers are conducting in about a month. I’ll send them 20-30 poops from each rabbit, and they’ll do an analysis and send me back the results. It’s for a good cause as well, they’re trying to get a more cohesive overview of rabbit intestinal parasite activity in the veterinary community. They’re going to be looking through the poops of about 1000 rabbits nationwide.

Yeah Sindriona, we found out something is rotten under the floor, so somebody needs to go in the crawl space under the house (we have no basement in this house) and see what’s wrong. Or rip up the entire floor. UHG! The problems with a very old house!

Booooo, clothes shopping! I went this weekend and bought a few things…I’m a big supporter of dresses with leggings, lol. I don’t even own a pair of jeans right now because I’m also a member of the “No Thigh Gap Club” and my last pair finally ripped a couple of months ago. I really need to buy a new pair, just so I have them to wear with t-shirts and such…
My fave store to shop is Torrid – it’s plus sized clothes, but not all sweaters and tunics and solid colors or floral patterns, haha.

In other news, the baby feels much better – so yay! And KitKat is headed to the vet Thursday for her spay. I bought her a new carrier this weekend, just to make the trip more comfy.

Not really caught up, but thought I would poke my head in and let people know that we’re still alive!

Tilly is still getting her ointment 3x a day, and has a recheck Wednesday. Duncan has been helping her avoid medicine and trying to help her escape. The hubby just left on a business trip… and I am currently fostering 3 young rexes while I try to find a bunny-savvy shelter or some forever homes for them. If we keep them much longer, we’ll have to figure out how to pay for 2 more neuters and a spay. @_@

So, needless to say; we have not finished moving. We have most of our stuff at the new place and I’ll be working on it through the week when I have time, but in the mean time I’m still with family so I don’t have to move Zoey and the 5 bunnies. I’m going to go take a nap now.

There’s this house for sale that I am in love with, sad thing is I know it won’t be for sale by the time I’m ready to buy my own place. (I mean a 4 bedroom house on over 30 acres and an in-ground pool, who could resist??) *sigh*

 Moxie- I completely understand the house thing.  I found a house I absolutely loved but wasn’t ready for purchase, then we ended up moving out of state and back again… needless to say someone snatched up the property!  Similar thing happened to us a couple years ago when we considered buying, but I liked the more recent house better than the first… so chances are you’ll find the one for you once you’re ready, even if this one goes off market.

It’s less than two weeks til DragonCon here, and things are starting to get crazy! Last minute costume prop prep, wig treatments, making boarding reservations for the dog, etc…tomorrow I’m going to get my hair cut and colored for my Scully (the X-Files) cosplay. Reserved photo ops last night…this is the biggest convention we’ve ever been too and I cant’ wait.

In other news, teething babies aren’t fun. And I’m still nervous about KitKat’s spay appointment on Thursday. Hopefully all will go well.

I had the best day! The hubby took me for a surprise trail ride. It was so much fun! Neither one of us had ever been horseback riding before, although I had always wanted to. They didn’t expect much of us of course, just slowing down if the horses got too close, and not letting them wander off into the woods. We weren’t supposed to have them do anything but walk, but I waited so long for this, I decided to make the most of it. So a couple of times, I slowed down enough to make some room in front of me and made my horse trot a little. It was awesome! I know I wasn’t doing it right, but oh well… Pirate (my horse) didn’t seem to mind. I was surprised at how responsive he was, I would barely touch him and he would do what I asked. I figured they would give us novice riders some dopey horses to play it safe.

I know those of you who are experienced riders must be laughing at me getting excited to trot for 10 feet, lol. I would love to do something a little more “advanced”, just walking didn’t cut it for me after a little while. Maybe I can talk the hubby into doing something like this again. There is a guitar that he really wants…

i haven’t been here the past several months. in addition to my own 8 buns (muffy is now permanent), i have pretty much stepped in to help a woman who was in over her head and getting evicted with over 30 rescue buns. this is definitely the most financially involved whim i have ever thrown myself into. sometimes i question my own sanity.

The dog’s vet appointment is in a few hours. I always worry before them. I never know if they are going to find something wrong with them when they are feeling around or something. =/
Hopefully they have a girl vet still, Zero takes a while to warm up to strange men (because the only male in the house is my father, so he’s more used to females)…
I’ll keep you all updated on how they do.

The dogs did good! Paris behaved the best, Zero behaved the second best, and Tilly behaved the worst, but she wasn’t really being bad. She was just a cry baby and started wailing when they gave her the shot! And going into the building she looked like a porcupine because she was scared. But everybody did good and got a clean bill of health. (Luckily all of the workers were women for Zero’s sake lol!)

LBJ, men do things like that =/ It’s utterly enigmatic and so very frustrating.

Went to a waterpark yesterday. It didn’t have too many different slides but it was still fun and some of them were terrifying! Like standing in a little tube while it counts down “3,2,1” and the floor drops from beneath you and then you go down a pretty much 90 degree drop for several hundred feet. Yikes!

LOL! I just wrote this amazingly long post and I deleted it! How good am I? It wasn’t the nicest, ha ha ha….. One thing you have to give me is my honesty and my maturity to delete it. I just want to wish everyone that I am fond of the best and I will always think of you.

It was my dog’s 4th birthday today. She and her “siblings” ate some cake and she got new toys!

Things have been so busy I really didn’t get to celebrate Kilala’s birthday and gotcha day. I did buy them some new items from BB and Amazon so she at least got some presents. I have had Kilala for 2 years now!

Me and my dog (Snickers. she’s a mini dachshund) are going to enter a 5k run for our local animal shelter. It’s going to be so much fun, even if I end up carrying her after the first mile!!

Moxie, Snickers will be wearing her tutu for the run, right?

Bam— Maybe, it depends on the weather. The Shelter’s 5k run (walk in our case, Snickers doesn’t run very fast ) isn’t for another month and a half so if it’s really cold (it is in the morning) she will have to wear a sweater/jacket. But I am thinking of making her a matching sweater so she can still wear the tutu.

Gah! Between school and babysitting and all of the volunteer work I do I’m going a little batty ? Part of me can’t wait till school’s over, but another part of me is dreading it because that means I’ll be job hunting, and once I have the job I’ll be working at least one 48 every week. Bleh. I’m still battling the runny nose with Luna…we’ve tried two antibiotics and I have to make another appointment at the vet’s…I still think it’s allergies because switching her litter did help with the sneezing a bit, and her cage is right under the window (which has to be open at night unless we’d all like to bake into little hockey pucks) soooo. I think once I get her to the vet I’m going to demand a culture done on her snot…I just have to wait till all of my horses are trimmed up because that’s taking up most of the extra money in my budget. Animals are so expensive! lol

Thanks guys. He’s better now, after 12 hours and three doses of Simethicone he finally started eating a little, and this morning there were some small poops in his litter box. His appetite still isn’t quite back to normal, but at least things are moving along.

Does anyone know what’s going on with AndHenry? I’ll try to pm her, maybe she’ll get it.
