I thought I would start a thread for those of us who like photography to post our favorite pictures we have taken, Share our favorite subjects and favorite cameras.
It can be hard finding a good camera and finding those who appreciate the hobby. I would post pictures first but my current camera is shameful.
I love photography, I am (very clearly) an amateur but I enjoy the art so I do it as often as I can. Once I load my pictures onto my PC I will post. ![]()
I’m a hobbyist photographer, and my mom and dad are both professionals. I haven’t picked up my camera in a long while though, just really haven’t been feeling it, and I have to borrow a lens from my mom because mine kit-lens is broken. However, I have plenty of photos I took a few years ago that I love. I use a canon rebel, not sure what year or model, but it’s at least 5 or 6 years old, it was a hand-me-down from my parents and I love it.
I do prefer to take pictures of humans and landscapes more than anything else, so there’s not much I can share because I don’t wanna post my family’s faces on this forum. Also they’re watermarked for my facebook page. But here’s a bit of my work. ![]()

This last one’s a really old one, one I took when I was probably 14, I don’t even have the original file anymore.
BunnyDaddy, lovely shots
I really like the dog portrait! I’ve loved photography since I can remember. That’s one of the reasons that attracted me to my boyfriend, he’s a pretty amazing photographer, even though we do different subjects. He’s into landscape, I’m into nature and wildlife. I own a pretty old Canon EOS 400D, or for the USA people, a Rebel XTi. I’ll treat myself to a new camera once I finish the thesis and get a job ![]()
A couple of my favourite photos:

I like photography, as long as I take photos of trees plants its OK, but if it is animals then no, because I’m the sort of person behind the camera who will say “Good dog.” or “Good boy, I’m taking your photo.” then end up with a dog really close up because they have come up to me to try and lick me.
I’m an avid iPhone photographer, does that count? lol…I’ve never saved up and actually bought a “real” camera, but I love taking pictures of all kinds of things.

Wow, some of you guys are so talented! ![]()
@BubblesJo: thanks!
I really like the photo of the rabbits, any time I try to get on the rabbits level they tend to get in my face. I wish I could get something published, that’d be pretty cool, even if I’m publishing it myself as like a coffee table book or something. I’m not yet confident in my work, even though I’ve been taking pictures for 10 years. Plus I’ve been in a funk, so no new photos at all.
@Pinky: I’m the same way, tbh. I only got such a good photo of that dog because he was in a car sitting next to me on vacation one year. My dogs are all bets off unless someone else distracts them for me.
@BunsAndDolls: Of course it counts! It’s a great way to start if anything, iphones have really good cameras. The first photo (The one of the bee.) was actually taken with my iphone and not my camera because I didn’t have it on me.
I’ve been taking pictures quite a few years now. Currently rocking a Canon EOS 60D, which is alright, and a good 70-200mm 2.8F zoom lens to go with it. Looking into getting a full-framed camera, since my previous full-frame Olympus E-3 died on me a while back, and I’m really missing it! Unfortunately, my budget doesn’t really support buying a full-frame right now… but maybe someday soon!
My photography website is at heffalumps.net, but I’d like to share a few choice shots with you guys. ![]()
Well mine aren’t so great, I can’t afford a DSLR and I have an android phone. So I just have a point and shoot. Hoping to upgrade at christmas time.

I love photography.
Although I have always used low quality cameras, and my current one is broken.![]()

I love photography but I’m not very good at it! I love the whole process from taking them to post production (which I’m even worse at, lol!)
My wife is an avid amateur photographer – she mainly photographs roller derby (a sport) but can’t do it as often as she’d like because we don’t drive and travel is expensive. She also loves taking pictures of people and recently photographed her first wedding and also a baby photoshoot. Unfortunately for me, she’s not very interested in taking pictures of our pets and usually has to be pleaded into it.
I’m slowly learning how to use a camera but lean heavily on my wife to check the settings for me. I am getting better at suggesting how to edit the photos (we usually do it together). Some of my better ones are candid family photos and I’m not sure they’d be happy about me posting them. I shall gather some up in a bit.
Its hard get settings and such down. Thats why I am nervous to get a DSLR … Honestly I may just set it on auto settings when I first get it and really want a shot, Playing with the settings is more fun when you can sit down and enjoy it. No shame in needing help.
I’d REALLY love to have a nice camera…my mom has one and I play with hers from time to time, but I don’t have any of those pics in my flickr or photobucket.
