So my boy went for his first vet visit and it went great! Right on the table he was munching on some hay he brought along for the trip (lol) and the vet said everything on his is looking perfect! The only issue was some hard wax crust in his ear, but the vet said there’s no infection or anything that is cause for concern, and probably just wax that he can’t clean out on his own.
The vet gave us ear wash to use once a week to help loosen the gunk, this is week two, bunny HATES ear wash, poor thing. It’s just the kind you put a few drops in, massage the base of the ear and done.
Thing is bunny doesn’t seem like it’s helping much, still itching his ear, not sure how the wax buildup is (I used to be able to see the top of the chunk just looking down his ear, can’t see it now which is good?) I plan to call the vet in another couple weeks to ask about it but I figured i’d wait and see a little longer since he’s not constantly itching it or anything.
Anyone else have this issue? Will he need ear cleaner forever? Or does this clear up? I’ve had him just about a month now with no history on him, he’s about 2 years old.
Oh and he’s not a lop eared bun.
Thanks!
