Okay so I’m an overprotective bunny mama. I will admit this.
I have a massive first aid kit prepped, a book with highlighted areas with different symptoms, care, and what is critical and needs to be seen by a vet asap… Just absolutely everything I can do in an emergency or injury to calm the situation before running to the vet. ((Found a wonderful website with all these details, and step by step instructions and signs to note even for bunny owners who don’t know much about first aid.))
So now my big thing is finding an emergency vet in my area. I have my normal vet, who is about 30 minutes away, and just for basic care and check ups.
But I need to find somewhere I can take both of my babies at any time of day or night. Does anyone have any recommendations for the Dayton Ohio area for 24 hour vets?
I found one in Columbus ((an hour away from me)) called MedVet Medical & Cancer Centers for Pets. They just have some insanely horrid reviews. People stating pets have been misdiagnosed. That they nickel and dime you. That they don’t care as much for the animal as they do the money. And that bothers me and worries me. So I’m trying to find another emergency vet, that maybe has a bit better review and opinions over this one.
Also looked at a clinic called Grady in Cincinnati. They told me two of their vets were allergic, and if in the case of emergency, those vets were there at the time I brought my rabbit in, that they would turn us away and refuse to treat them. Which honestly kind of really shocked me.
So both of those places were on my no list, because of those things, but I’m still looking for an emergency vet.
