  I don’t know what breed my Duncan is yet, but I noticed something with his head shape that is new to me. On the top of his head, in front of the ears, but centered back a little from between the eyes (about where a cottontail blaze is) there is a small boney ridge. It’s obviously just the shape of his head, but I’ve never noticed this on a bun before.
  
  I checked Tilly’s head and it’s just the dip between her brows, no little ridge. Duncan has a dip with a raised ridge in it. Could this help identify what breed or mix he is?
  
  Edit to Add: I should note that it’s not visible and it’s nearly at the base of the ears… Tilly’s little “valley” between her eyes extends up to this point, but Duncan seems to have a slight ridge you can feel with your finger under the fur, with the dips still on either side. I’ll be adding more pictures of him soon. Just wasn’t sure if this was a marked trait of any breed.

  Seriously though, some bunnies have a heavier skull than others. Perhaps Duncan is mixed with New Zealand or another medium-large breed. In your other thread, it sounds like you suspect he may have been a meat rabbit.

  He’s got wild coloring, even the black between the toes, almost spitting image of cottontail markings, exception of missing the blaze. (Yes I know he’ not cottontail.. just surprised by the similarities with his agouti-ness) I thought at first with his size and his shape that maybe he was a different color new Zealander, or some mix of it? I’m working on getting more pictures. His skull is definitely longer than Ms. Tillys, and her skull is much more dainty; just as you said. I’m just always amazed at how different every bunny seems to be. Pete had virtually no brow, with his streamlined profile and adorable little buggy-eyes. Tilly has such a heavy brow that her eyes seem to disappear in them and her chubby little cheeks… and Duncan has a strong brow with a more triangular top and nasal bridge.
  
  I’m still learning about bunnies… but I love learning about the different breeds and trying to figure out what my babies might be.

  With my first bun, a Mini Rex, the head shape was very pronounced and not at all the little round shape of some bunnies. Compare your bunny to rexes, in case the shape is similar.
  
  Spike, who is a chinchilla in coloring and probably in breed, has that black streak between white upper toes, as well as a half black/half white tail.

  I have to prone my bunnies’ heads for ridges tonight, that’s for sure!
  I think the agouti gene is dominant and European rabbits (that the domestic rabbit stems from) have that exact color ( but never a blaze, they always have the white tail though). It is my favorite bunny color because it’s the color of wild rabbits.

  The ridge thing is interesting. Kieko has a ridge that starts between her “eyebrows” and continues on between her ears.

  My little Bridge Mini-Rex, Stormy, got the name “Peanut Man” because his little head reminded me of a shelled peanut.

  Bam has a ridge between his ears and a bit down towards his forehead, I found it yesterday when we had nose-rub time. He’s a mini lop. OH always calls him little knobbly head because he has a bony little head
