  Winston is being such a naughty bunny today. He has chewed the vacuum cleaner, jumped on the sofa loads even though he gets a ‘NO!’ and put back on the floor each time. (He chewed my leather sofa this week so definitely not allowed on it), hes climbing everywhere, chewing my tables, digging and pulling at carpet. Right now he’s peeling off the wallpaper (we’re redecorating soon so not too bothered about that right now)
  I just don’t know what to do!!! He has sooo many toys! He has willow twigs, plastic key things, toilet roll tubes, books to shred, a digging box, a wooden seesaw, a cat scratching pole! But he doesn’t like to play with any of these except the books and digging box – and its only because I hide pellets in the digging box! So he’s not doing this because he has nothing to play with!
  He’s a 6 month old dwarf lop, not neutered yet. He’s just got over a case of head tilt. While he was ill he was so well behaved, I could leave him alone for ages and he wouldn’t chew or climb, now that he’s better he’s becoming a nightmare!!!
  Howcan I stop his behaviourally problems??? Help!!!!

  Sounds like hormonal crazies! Neutering is the best thing for this, but be warned that for 4 to 8 weeks after neuter, his hormones will fluctuate and the crazies will continue until his hormones have calmed down.

  Thanks for answering ☺ I didn’t realise that was a thing!
  The vet advised us to not to neuter him for a month or so as he has been on medication for the last month and half for ear infectio/head tilt. So they don’t want to put him through surgery just yet.
  I guess all I can do in the meantime is keep an eye on him and interact even more to keep him occupied

  I totally agree with what JR just said. When I first started reading your post I wondered if he was neutered. Both mine were crazy chewers when they became hormonal. Once neutered the behavior might even get worse because hormones are fluctuating but it will get better.

  Guys I’ve gotta chime in that I don’t think you can totally expect the chewing to improve with neutering. Improve, hopefully. This came up on another post the other day and people were saying it might help, but not necessarily. Sorry to be a downer, but I just don’t want to get hopes up too much. Also keep an eye on those ears (no pun intended) because that just sounds so young to start with ear problems (though my vet said he’s found them in 12 week olds) so be prepared this could reoccur.

  Megabunny is right about the chewing. I was talking more about the ADD type behavior of having to bounce around having to destroy everything he touches. Neutering plus age should help slow that need down.
