So my first trip to the vet with the new bun!
I have a great exotics vet (has taken care of my ratties for years) but since when I like with my ratties is an hour from where my bun lives with the boyfriend (and since we may be moving up there within the year anyways) I decided to look into some other exotics vets and find some that know a lot about bunnies. If this doesn’t work out i’ll stay with my current vet (she treated all our buns in the past) but who knows if i’ll find someone even better in my search!
So i’m looking around the Gloucester Ma area, and i’ve looked on the HRS page but the vets on there that are a reasonable distance (I don’t mind driving to a vet but to me closer is better for emergencies rather than having then get my info from another vet etc etc, again though if needed distance isn’t my top concern) I have been to before and find i don’t like them, either they were rude, ran tests without my permission, or knew less about the species in question than I did (I get they have to know a lot, but sometimes it’s scary when they are about to give my ratties an antibiotic or flea treatment that could harm them).
I’m looking now into North shore vet and i’m going to call and see if I can ask the vet some questions and was wondering what I should ask? I’m going off this list http://www.mybunny.org/info/local-rabbit-vets/vet-questionnaire/
Also my bun needs to be neutered, but i don’t plan on having it done at the vet I choose since the MSPCA up here does it for a smaller fee, but I figure they are always doing the rabbits who come into them and probably have a bit more experience than the average vet with neuters.
Thank you!
