  Okay so my newest addition to the home is Speckles, a cute little girl who was abandoned.
  
  She seems health wise perfectly fine, except being drastically underweight. I noticed when brushing her fur that the outer edges of her ears had dry, flaky skin. It doesn’t appear to be irritated at all, there is no wax in her ears ((insanely clean btw)), and she hasn’t been shaking her head or itching at the ears. When I rub at the spots she doesn’t mind, but it is clear they do no itch her at all. When rubbed the skin does flake off fairly easily as well.
  
  Also on the back of one ear she has a bald spot, where the other ear is completely normal. We just got her two days ago, she was abandoned and rescued a few days ago by a friend. They cleaned her up ((She was caked in mud, and trapped in a cage, left to die)).
  
  Super sweetie, but the skin and missing fur on her ears bothers me. We are taking a trip to the vet tomorrow, and I will be mentioning it then, but does anyone maybe have any ideas whats up with her ears????

  Dry flakiness and bald spots sound like she may have mites. Not sure about it being on the tips of her ears though.

  It’s not even the tips. It’s in a few tiny areas around the outer edges of the ears.
  
  And the bald spot looks like fur just never grew there. No other signs in the area of anything wrong, not even dry skin on the bald spot.
  
  Well thank goodness we are going to the vet tomorrow. I’ll have her look into it.

  It could just be dry skin. Olivia gets dry, scaly skin on her ears sometimes. It’s quite bad right now. I take a baby brush and brush her ears. We had it checked when it first started and it was tested negative for mites. But since the symptoms are similar, best to have a vet check it out.

  Just got back from the vet a bit ago. No mites.
  
  Vet said it is probably just dry skin from being bathed. And the bald patch could have been from a variety of things, but there is no trauma to the area.
  
  We have no info on this pretty little lady, so we can’t say for sure, but the vet is going to make sure we keep an eye on it. Suggested rubbing neosporin on the area for now.

  Maybe she’s a bit malnourished if she’s that under-weight. Hopefully the neosporin will fix it + lots of love and a good healthy diet. Thank you for giving her a home!

  Bam there wasn’t any way I wasn’t taking her home. I held her in my arms, and my boyfriend saw the look on my face, and said we were taking her.
  
  My Flemish isn’t living with us currently ((moved twice and it was hectic and my best friend is holding onto him until August because she can’t drive down to me any sooner.)) so all that overabundance of love and bunny mama protectiveness went somewhere.
  
  She is malnourished. The vet gave me some foods I should give her, and what I should give in abundance. She will be healthy and a perfect weight soon enough!
