At my barn, we have apple trees that were pruned today. I took home some of the branches, and I know that they are not grown on fertilized soil or anything-I take care of them. But the trees are sprayed with deer and rabbit repellent. Is that still okay to feed my rabbit? Will the repellent hurt her? I think it is just something that smells really bad.

        Thanks!

I don’t think it really matters whether or not the are safe in terms of toxicity. The repellent is sprayed on to make the deer and rabbits dislike the apple trees, so your bunny will dislike and avoid them if you take them to her..

It’s really hard to say how safe or unpleasant they will be since there are different kinds. Some should be harmless but icky, like the ones made to taste like scrambled eggs. Others like the ones meant to smell like predator urine could be extremely stressful and upsetting to your bunny. I’m not familar with any that are out right toxic, but I haven’t looked into it that deeply.

Long story short, I would not give them to bunny, since the best case scenario is they taste icky to your bunny anyway.
