  I haven’t posted on here in a while since we’ve been doing so great. Jude and Leia get along as if they were raised together and Jude is never locked in his cage and they’re alone together quite a bit. They nap together, play together and everything. Anyways, last night me and my boyfriend were playing with Jude in the floor and noticed he had some irritation on his head and looks like he may have lost a bit of fur too..then, we saw it. A flea. We only saw one and used a flea comb and got it off of him and then drowned it (soapy water). But..there is never just one flea. Not in my experience anyways. My guess is that we brought them in on us since the cat and rabbit aren’t allowed outside and we tend to go to parks and such where there are dogs and there are a bunch of stray cats around the house. Anyways, I contacted the closest trusted rabbit savvy vet and he recommended revolution for puppies and kittens but he said he couldn’t get it because you have to get it in Australia or something and their vet office only receives things from a supplier..something like that. There are multiple places I can buy it online without a prescription. I’m planning to use the puppy and kitten on Jude and get the kind for cats for Leia. I’m still probably going to make an appointment with the vet for Leia and Jude to get a checkup maybe next month since I know now who our vet will be from now on. But anyways, should I buy revolution for puppies and kittens and is there a certain way or certain amount I should use other than what comes with it? Here’s a link to their website.

  thank you, I had to buy it online because apparently the vet offices around where I live can only get things from a supplier and since you have to get revolution from Australia I had to order it myself. We’re also getting revolution for the cat to be on the safe side. We have a rosemary plant in our garden and fleas hate it so we boiled that and sprayed the water/rosemary mist all over the house and washed all the bedding and things. I just hope his fur will grow back..anything recommended to soothe his irritation?

  His fur will grow back, you should soon see it start to do so. Is the skin very red and irritated, not just where you put the Revolution?

  Jude is perfectly fine now, his fur grew back and no more irritation or fleas on him after we got him revolution. We also took our cat to the vet and she got some sort of shot for fleas that cats can get every 1/2 a year but it doesn’t seem to have taken effect yet. my boyfriend wanted to give her a flea bath in this flea shampoo that we have but I’m pretty sure the smell would be harmful to my rabbit..am I right? The smell is pretty strong.

  You can use revolution on cats too. The vet probably administered a selamectin injection like they do for bunnies. Best idea is treat both your cat and bun with Revolution. I order the big dog pack with dosing syringe and measuring vial. A 2ml ampule does all the bunnies and cats. I have the special charts for measuring the amount to be applied.

  the kind that the vet used is called program injectables and it’s pretty much birth control for fleas instead of just killing them. We used 2 different types because we figured the fleas will jump on the cat and won’t be able to have babies and if they jump on Jude they’ll die..win win. We can’t use any topical preventative for fleas on her with the shot or it will mess with it (vet said)
