Nyssa has only been mine for a week, and she’s the most affectionate little thing, love hanging with me on my bed, and normally perches herself on my shoulder while I read. Yet we have a problem. Hard nipping.
Today she was sitting on my chest, sniffing my nose, and out of nowhere she bit, and bit hard.. No nibble, just chomped down.
I told her no firmly and blew on her nose, and she got put back in her cage. I took her back out after dinner, and she was sitting on my shoulder, and again I got a hard nip, this time it left a mark. Or as my friend said, I got a love bite from a bunny on my neck
. Again with the no, blew on her nose, and put her back in her cage.
I don’t think she’s being aggressive, more curious and just nibbling to hard. Reminds me of a puppy that hasn’t learned to play nice. But obviously its not something I want her to be doing.
Is a firm no enough and she’ll figure it out over time? Is putting her back in her cage something she will learn to associate with nipping? Basically bunny time out.
Thanks for the help.
