Hello,

My dutch girl, Emmy, is a very messy eater.  She gets green/brown liquid all over her face when she eats her lettuce.  It’s an even distribution of messiness too, not just focused on one side.  I don’t think that normal… if anyone else bunny has the same problem I’d like to know!  But that’s just a little background. 

So she was diagnosed with dental disease just a couple weeks ago, and she got her teeth shaved at that appointment.  This morning I get up and see her left cheek (this is the side that had the worse dental disease I believe) is brown and matted, and when I touch it it’s not soaking wet, but a little damp.  It trails down a bit to underneath her chin.  This has happened before (I think before the teeth trimming and this is the first time after) and she never seems to be bothered by it, and I mentioned the excessive wetness to the vet when we were there a couple weeks ago and they didn’t really comment on it.  

Is this anything to be concerned about?  Is it possible she already needs her teeth shaved down after just 2 weeks?!  Or maybe she’s still getting used to chewing with her newly trimmed teeth?   Is it drool, or just lettuce juice?

She drinks from a dish, maybe I should switch to a bottle for a bit to see if that clears it up?

Just hoping to get some advice, maybe someone’s experiencing the same problem.  I hate seeing my beautiful dutch with a brown matted cheek

The one with her full face shows what she looks like eating red leaf lettuce, you can see the wetness doesn’t really extend into her whisker area, which is where most of the issue is right now.
