So happy – after about 32 hours post surgery (and 3-5 measly little poops) she is finally pooping and the poops even look normal. I gave her her metacam this morning but that still didn’t fix things. She was grumpy – wouldn’t let us syringe feed her, wouldn’t eat the pellet smoothie at all, flinging everything around the cage – dumped her pellet bowl in the water bowl and flung the veggies everywhere, and tried to stomp the syringe every time we tried to give her liquid. It wasn’t until around 5 this afternoon that she finally started letting me give her pedialyte, She ate her arugula, but what seemed to really jump start her appetite were the rasberries, she ate 3 and then another 3 and after that went for some hay and lots of veggies. Then at around 7 PM I find a bunch of poops in the cage and she is also looking and acting much much happier. I’m so relieved. Im still going to keep a close eye tonight and keep going with the pedialyte; she likes it. I moved her to her intermediate pen, as her home is 2 stories. I’m so relieved right now.
