I got a buddy for my bunny and now he’s pooping everywhere (pre-neuter style) and also spraying has returned although not quite as bad as before he was neutered (now mostly in corners usually next to/near their 3 litterboxes or in the cage she used while recovering from surgery). 2nd bunny will make a couple poops here and there but it’s all him.
They have been recently bonded/in process of bonding and I say in process because they still bicker, “I’m THE bossth!!”, but they do enjoy each others company and they love to hang out.
The excessive pooping/peeing in places other than the litterbox started occuring 3 weeks ago maybe 3 weeks after they became good buddies (i.e. I was able to leave them out together without crazy fighting). In addition he started pulling up carpet, again!! Carpeting was pristine before this. She started humping his face again just like before her spay. Unauthorized face humping is another reason they start arguing and this usually happens when I bring out the pellets, lettuce or treats.
How do I get them to stop? And be friends… how to nudge them into being BFF’s?! Or at least stop the bad potty/face humping issues. I really wish I was able to let him choose her and do some dating but I did rescue her from a less fortunate situation (living outside by herself) so he had no choice.
I tried turning on the vacuum while they were in the bathtub, he was scared to death and she thought the vacuum was a complete joke! LOL. She is also comfortable with car rides, he isn’t. I feel like all these behaviors are happening to show everyone else who The Real Boss is.
Thanks in advance for reading this post!
