  Hello! I haven’t posted here for about 5 years but I don’t have anywhere else to turn for my current situation.
  
  my bun is very old. he is pushing 11 years. this morning he couldn’t get up by himself and as I went to help him, I noticed a ball of dry poop stuck to his bottom. I tried to remove it but its really really suck!
  
  doing a bit of research, people suggested cutting the fur. is there a safe way I can hold him without hurting him? do I need two people? his very thin, has cataracts, and has arthritis and I don’t want to rough handle him and end up hurting him. he seems so light and fragile now… I’m afraid of breaking him.
  
  I also have question about euthanasia.
  
  when is a good time? other then his physical state, his appetite is good and he’s always looking to be pet and cuddled. his spirit is THERE but he does not move much because I think it pains him. he can barely keep himself balanced.

  Have you spoken to your vet about arthritus and pain management ? It can make a big difference. I have a boy with tummy issues and I give him a shallow butt bath to loosen any stuck poop. You can also try unscented baby wipes to soften it or put a warm damp flannel under his butt to try and loosen the poop.
