  Yesterday I noticed that Felix urine was red! My boyfriend gave him beet leaves, so I don’t know if its diet related. He is acting normal, no other signs of something being wrong. I was doing some spring cleaning and saw he has been chewing on the base boards behind the door, which are painted. Could he possibly be poisoned from ingesting paint chips? I saw online that spraying vinegar on it will stop him from chewing on it so I sprayed it all around the room. I cleaned his food bowls and today he is fine as well. I would take him to his vet but he retired and I am having trouble finding a new one :/

  Bunny pee can be a range of colors, some of them pretty scary looking. Can you be more specific? Is the pee bright red, dark red, orangish red, brownish red, pinkish red? Is part of it yellow and part red in the same puddle or all the same color?
  
  BTW, since your vet retired, it would be a good idea to go ahead and find a new vet, and if possible, have the records sent to the new vet.

  It was like a yellowy red. It wasn’t entirely all red, mixed with some normal urine color.

  Anything that contains carotene will cause a reddish tint in bunny urine. It’s harmless. I would only worry if it is “normal” looking pee that is streaked with red. That would suggest that it is blood.
