Hello everyone. I will try to keep my question short, as they always seem to run out of control on me
I had posted awhile back about my bunny having a couple of bouts of G Stasis. The symptoms she has now are not like that all. She is drinking, pooping and eating completely normally and does not appear to be in any kind of discomfort.
She shares a bedroom with my boyfriend’s computer, where, through the winter you can find him a lot. Now that is is spring, he is golfing, etc, and is not in the computer/bunny room much anymore. I have noticed over the last 5-6 days, that my Casper Girl has been really disinterested, excessively grooming herself… (I feel like everytime I look over at her she’s grooming herself), and when I open up the gate to give her access to the stairs/ rest of the house… she doesn’t care, doesn’t notice… whereas before she literally eats the baby gate to get out, and when opened up she would book it down the stairs and binky her heart out in the living room. It’s been about a week and half- 2 weeks since I have seen a real binky. She can be found sitting like a loaf, sleeping, sittingunder the chair in her room. She perks up for treats, but that is short lived. I presented a stuffed dog to her last night, she was curious with it, sometimes she grooms it, but looses interest that it doesn’t groom back.
I have been getting up a little later then normal and thought maybe I was just missing her hyper mornings, so got up early today— Notta. I have stayed up with her a couple of extra house the last two nights in a row just to play, cuddle and do foraging games… She’s into it but not like she use to be.
Could she be missing her room-mate, my boyfriend, could she just be lonely and depressed generally? I know that they are social and most rabbits prefer to be bonded, I don’t know if that is an option for us right now. Any other suggestions as to how I can get her out of this funk OR are these symptoms of something completely different and I am missing the mark?
