It seems that me and my boyfriend have a slight dilemma on our hands when it comes to the dog and bucky. Bucky seems to be quite in love with our dog but the dog can barely tolerate the bun. In fact, we had the dog on the leash at my insistence and he snapped and curled his lips at the bunny which got him thrown out of the den since bucky has no problems about coming up to troy at all. There is no hesitating with the bunny in how much he likes the dog.
It more that troy is curious for the bunny poop and since we now have bucky in a much bigger habitat then a small cage on the dresser, troy is more interested in licking up bunny poop and ignoring the bunny in the cage. In fact, bucky is more apt to push his nose through and try to lick the dog instead, showing love and favor to the dog. Then again, my boyfriend has the bad habit of putting his fingers underneath bucky’s chin and not understanding why he’s getting bit or nibbled upon.
Bucky gets lot of out time from his habitat but I am more hesitant of letting the dog be around the bunny, or am I wrong in asking my boyfriend to have us start training troy to ignore the bunny whenever he is in the den with us. I want the dog to be able to be around the bun, but I want to be able to breathe when the dog and bun are in the same room together. Anyone have any suggestions on how I can calm my fears about a five year old dog being around the bun that we’ve added into the family.
