        Hello all!

So my lop Ludwig is very picky about toys and hidey houses. His first hidey house I had for him in his condo was the front half of a cardboard box with a front door and the back entirely cut out. I ended up throwing it out because he had chewed it to bits (he loved it to chew on). The second hidey house I had was a blue fuzzy cat hut, but he hated it and scarcely went in it.

Right now, I don’t have any place for him to properly hide in his cage. I’ve looked at the huts at countless pet stores but none of them seem really big enough (he’s almost 6 pounds). I want him to have a place where he can hide, so does anyone have any idea for a DIY hidey house he could use?

I’m also a college student so I’m broke 95% of the time. I’ll post a picture of his condo below so you guys can see the size of it to better gage what type of house would fit well! Thanks everyone

The thing on the right hand side of his first floor is a bed I made him that he doesn’t use ;p

Maybe a Catty Stacks?  My bunnies and my 20lb cat love them! http://www.cattystacks.com/  I got mine at Petco for $12

Otherwise, make a new cardboard box!

              I can’t see the picture.
Cardboard boxes are great hidey houses, as are large stepstools, small tables and large buckets turned on their sides. Paper grocery bags can make great hidey places if the edges are rolled up. I have seen awesome bunny houses made out of NIC cubes, and concrete molding tubes can be used as tunnels and hidey houses. There are endless options you can make or buy for cheap.
The BB store has some awesome bunny houses as well.

Out of all the hidey things we’ve made and bought, the tunnel haven (BB store) is by far my bunnies’ favorite.

                  My bunnies second JR’s statement.

LEL –if I try to stretch it straight out, my little rearranger Moshi comes right behind me and moves it into a curved L shape! OCD bunny!

Really? Mine do the same thing except they prefer it straight! Better to do bunny 500’s through!

We have a condo made of NIC cubes and used the extra to make a little shelf that they can hop on top of or hide underneath! We have one in the bedroom and one in the living room and they seem to enjoy them. We just put a piece of cardboard and a fleece blanket on top.

I know he chewed up his last cardboard box, but they really do make the best hidey holes and are free if you know where to get them. So, I’d make him another cardboard box one, and just be prepared to have to replace it on a regular basis.

Thanks everyone! I think cardboard is going to be the best option. Cardboard is cheap and if he likes it then might as well.

My buns love their hidey houses/beds made from cardboard boxes. I cut a door and window and they enjoy doing “bunstruction” making it just the way they want it. Good thing they are cheap to replace.

I would totally just make another box!! It proves as 2 things, a toy and a hidey house! So its even better. It keeps his brain busy! I couldn’t see the pic, so I don’t know the size. But you also could attach a bunch of boxes together and he has a bunny castle!
