Tedster, what ARE you complaining about? Despite the neutering he’s still totally in love with you and friendly as can be!! Honest. That’s a good thing! Took mine a good while to get back into that behavior, which I love!! Sounds like he’s just a really vocal bunny.
I don’t think I’d be worried about his water intake, but I don’t know if there’s any set amount normal for bunnies. And so many people are against feeding pellets to rabbits that I wouldn’t worry about that, either, if everything else seems to be working properly. Did you get some new hay that might be more pallatable to him?
Tis the season for shedding. Certainly stress, like surgery, can cause shedding. But I’ve been hearing a lot on here about shedding lately, so I think, like my Gus, it’s that time of year and shedding can go on for a long time. As long as there aren’t bald patches or anything out of the ordinary.
It’s good you have things that will collect the fur. I just had to bring Gus’ bed outside and lay it down and rub it with a wet cloth. That works better than a roller brush, as it collects all the fur and bunches it up. I do that in my car, too, for the dog’s fur. And if he doesn’t want you to brush his belly, can you dampen your hands and rub his belly back and forth? You may find yourself with a HUGE handful of fur. I don’t feel like mine sheds a lot on his belly, but who knows??

I thought you were back to college and him left at home. How did that go? I know he was scaring your sister there for awhile and I sometimes wonder whatall (is that a word?)happened there

Some bunnies continue to honk after speutering. I think it’s a cute noise. It’s not anything to worry about, for sure.

Pellets are the least important part of the diet. A bunny eating a variety of suitable veggies and good quality pellets does not even need pellets.

Sounds like he’s molting. Bunnies need to be groomed every day during a molt. Yes, it does seem like an endless amount of fur. My bunnies hate grooming. I have to sit them on the kitchen table. There’s no way they would just sit still for it. And a good tip during a heavy shed is wet your hands a bit and shake of the excess water. Run your hands along the length of fur. This gets all those loose little bits after grooming that bunny would otherwise ingest. I do the bellies this way too. Just run my hand under the bunny.

Bramble took absolutely ages to go back to eating pellets after his neuter, I put it down to the fact that he had his teeth done at the same time and maybe the pellets were too hard for his sore mouth but maybe its just one of those things that some rabbits go through after a neuter. Bramble was also going through a major shed recently which thankfully seems to have calmed down now, its hard to brush his tummy but the way I was looking at it was if I was doing the best I could brushing where he would let me every day then it was a heck of a lot better than nothing and the small amount of hair on his tummy (comparative to all over) wasn’t that much if he did swallow some of it – which he did and gave me a little scare by not eating for hours because of it, but bramble doesn’t eat anywhere near enough hay, if your bun is eating lots of hay it will help any ingested hair move through his system and he should be fine as long as you groom him the best you can.

Tedster, still wondering how you made out with your bun. Could your sister eventually get near him? there’s another poster who is frustrated with aggressive rabbit behavior, and I’d like to extend some hope to that person if you had a happy ending to all that trouble with Ted and your sister
