So Teddy is now fully recovered from the neutered process, but there are still some really questionable behaviors. He doesn’t drop random poop in the play pen anymore, which is good, but he’s still circling around our feet and legs while honking…it’s been a little bit more than a month, so I was wondering why is he still honking?
The second problem is that, his eating habit has changed. Usually he would eat hay, veggies, and pellet in about an equal amount and he drinks not a lot of water, but still enough for him to pee several times a day. Now, he eats a tremendous amount of hay, still the same amount of veggies, barely any pellets at all, and he’s drinking tons of water. I tried taking the veggies out to lure him to eat his pellets, but he won’t eat it unless he is really really hungry. I bought him a small ceramic food bowl from PetCo, so the bowl isn’t even big. Usually I would fill up the bowl twice a day, but now, I only have to fill it up once a day, or even once every day and a half….he’ll munch on about 4-5 pellets here and day, and that’s it. He’s urinating and pooping is still a lot, but is it okay for him to eat such little pellets?
The final problem is that, he started shedding like crazy and Teddy despise being held, he would wiggle and kick until he falls out my arm and I’m afraid that’s going to hurt him, so I don’t want to hold him, it’s a challenge, so I can’t groom his belly and I’m pretty sure that’s where all the shedding furs are coming from. Every where in sits on the fleece blanket, furs are left behind and at the bottom of his cage, there’s tons of fur. I groom his back once every one week but since two weeks ago, it’s a never ending grooming session, furs keep coming out non stop to the point where I think that he’ll be left with no more fur if I keep going…can someone please tell me what’s wrong? Please and thank you. I’m in desperate help because of his tremendous shedding, I have to clean the bottom of his cage more often now because I don’t want him to ingest the fur and all his toys are covered in his fur. Any help would be appreciated, thank you in advance!
