teeth problems- not drinking water?

  My bunny was recently diagnosed with a malocclusion- the problem is with her cheek teeth. The thing is that she is eating fine (hay, pellets, veggies) but she’s not drinking much water at all. Her bowl would usually be done overnight whereas now its still full to the top. The vet suspects its b/c of her teeth and sent her with metacam, cisapride, and critical care to get some nutrients into her and see if she gets better until we do something about her teeth. Its been a week and a half but shes still not drinking much water, she is doing a bit better tho and has a few sips here and there. What I am wondering is that if her teeth are hurting her how come she is eating okay, actually attacking her food lol (and pooping normally), but not drinking water? If the teeth were really causing her pain wouldn’t she not be eating anything either?
  
  Also, is there anything I can put in her water to entice her to drink? Already tried apple juice but it didn’t work. stubborn bunny :p

  Normally, in my experience, rabbits with dental problems may drink more to soothe the pain of the teeth that are cutting into the cheek area.
  
  My rabbit doesn’t drink much either. I think indoor rabbits who get greens just don’t consume that much water.
  
  And for dental problems and changes in behavior it really varies by rabbit and some rabbits don’t have any noticeable changes at all and can have dental problems. It’s just not the same for every rabbit.

  I can tell you with my rabbit though who goes every 3 months for dental exams and trims, I can only tell there is a problem because he doesn’t eat his cecals as much as normal…

  Thanks Sarita, she started drinking ALOT again like she used to so yeah she’s probably trying to soothe her mouth.

  Poor thing. I had been wondering how Fluffy has been. You can always try syringing water into her mouth if it doesn’t stress her out too much, but as Sarita said some bunnies don’t drink a lot (especially if they are getting moisture elsewhere).
  
  Will she be going in to have her teeth worked on soon?

  Thanks for asking, she hasn’t been that good… its like one problem after another just keeps occurring
  I’m trying to get her in for her teeth file, the only problem is getting my mom to drive me the 40 mins
