So I just recently found out that it is not recommended to use bedding all over Loki’s cage. Of course, that is what the pet store told me to do, and being a new bunny owner, I listened. I was planning on stopping the bedding because it is getting stuck in Loki’s fur. some people told me to try using a fleece or something for the bottom of his cage, so he can also stay warm. but the only thing i’m worried about is him possibly chewing it and swallowing it. (yes I am kind of a paranoid bunny owner. haha) I just want to make sure he’s safe with what is in his cage. I was also told to try the woven mats, which I do want to try as well, but I know they aren’t very warm, and I would like to use something else to keep him warm in his hut. so basically, do you think I would be okay to use a fleece? and just watch him with it? or is there different alternatives? I don’t think he would like pelleted bedding, seeing as he hates the care fresh. well, he doesn’t hate it, but he definitely prefers no bedding at all. the care fresh is not an option, as it’s been getting stuck in his fur and causing knots.
if I should use a fleece, is there any recommendations? how often it should be taken out and cleaned?
