  I have a very odd problem: my dog is terrified of my rabbit! Now granted, she’s slightly bigger than him, but I still find it pretty funny. They’re never alone together, and I don’t really care if they like each other much, but lately Bella (the bunny) has been lunging at the dog every time he tries to poop. She completely ignores him the rest of the time they are outside together, it’s only when he starts pooping that she gets irritated. Any ideas as to why?? Is that how rabbits mark their territory or something? I just don’t understand it at all. And as amusing as it is, I’m starting to feel bad for the poor dog haha. She never actually bites or even scratches him, but he is a little chicken and he’s always been afraid of her anyway. I know I could just put Bella away whenever it’s time to let the dog out, but lately she hasn’t gotten as much free time as she’s used to (I have been working more hours and won’t let her roam the yard when no one is home), so I am really hoping I won’t have to do that. Any advice would be much appreciated!!

  Oh that poor dog. Boy, that’s a strange one! My dog gets a bit bullied sometimes too. But that’s new to me. I think most rabbits here don’t go out, so I’ll be surprised if you get much in the way of a response, though I loved letting my rabbits out in the fenced in yard we had til we moved. I did notice that the rabbit didn’t seem to care if there was a pile in the yard, though. He run right through it. Ew!

  You’re probably right, I forget that most people keep their bunnies indoors. I guess I’m just lucky to live in a place with lovely, mild winters and a securely fenced yard. Hm that’s odd, my rabbit avoids it like the plague! Maybe that’s why she gets so upset about it – she just wants to keep the yard clean Anyway, I will just have to hold on to her or put her in her cage while the dog goes out. Not a big deal I guess.
