SO, Moxie has had some Improvement. I’d like to know if this is a good pace of improvement or not. Right before I brough her to the vets she had been having a lot of sneeze attacks that ended in a coughing/honking/hacking sounds. She got her 5th dose of medicine today. She’ll get her 6th dose tomorrow. Anyways, back to the point. She has had drastically less if any at all sneeze attacks for the past 2-3 days. (I don’t even think she’s sneezed in the past 2 days.) ALTHOUGH, there is still a rattle in her chest when she breaths. When she breaths heavier it gets even louder. Although I think the rattle in her chest is improving. So is this good improvement for 5 days?
Now here comes the fun part. The medicine battle. DUN DUN DUN!
Moxie seems set on not taking her meds. The first day the vets gave her the medicine. They syringed her. The second day, we were able to trick her with a banana slice. On the third day we were almost able to trick her with the banana, she ate about half, and we syringed the other half of the pill. Yesterday (4th dose) with just dissolved it, although she was CLEARLY unhappy. Today for her 5th dose, I dissolved the pill into a little grape juice, although she still didn’t really want to try to take it. Tomorrow I’m going to try mixing it with baby food. If that doesn’t work, canned pumpkin. Any suggestions? I hate how much this is stressing her out, and I don’t want her to struggle and accidently hurt herself.
I’m also mad at the vets, because I’m 99% sure they gave me LIVER FLAVORED BAYTRIL to give Moxie. And they think that’s easy or pleasent for either of us?

From my experience, 5 days is great for the improvement she has had.
She must have felt well enough to go out, because my bunnies seem to have caught her runny nose.
I reckon they partied too hard?
Could you call the vet and ask if they have any other flavours? I don’t blame Moxie for hating liver flavor! My only suggestion would to try to get the strongest flavour of baby food you can, to try to cover up the taste. Good luck with that, I don’t think liver is exactly mild. :/ -
Oh no! I hope yours don’t have anything serious! The treatments aren’t always exactly “cheap.” Just for the little bottle of pills for three weeks cost me about $35 dollars. They said if she didn’t improve she might need another week or so of treatment (although I think by the rate she’s going 3 weeks should be enough). Also I don’t think they have other flavors (You’d think they would have offered!) But it wouldn’t hurt to give them a call.

Yep, I am about 99% sure they have Pasturella, it’s an ongoing battle with these two. It comes back around once a year. *sigh* Although it does give me a good excuse to take them in yearly. But yes, not cheap. How much does a regular “well bunny” check up cost for you?

(I’ll have to check the reciete) although I’m pretty sure the “wellness-check up” cost $44 to $45. and then we had them clip her nails for another $10. All in all it cost about $90 for the baytril, nail trim and check up. Although we had a “new customer” cupoun so it cost us about $67-70 dollars. So I was happy with the price. Although It’ll be full price from now on.
