  When I got my rabbit (apparently she was pregnant at the time) I could let her out of the cage and she could be out for an hour and not once would she ever poop or pee outside of it. Now that she’s given birth (over 12 weeks ago) she can’t be out any longer then 5-10 mins without her peeing or pooping. I have kept one of the babies and even she can stay out longer. What happened? Is it normal?

  I’d ask your vet. She may need to be examined for any slight damage that may have happened when she gave birth. Incontinence is something that should be checked out. Also, put a spare litter pan outside the cage where she plays. She may just feel too lazy to go all the way back to the cage.

  This could be a hormonal issue, or possibly territorial marking against the baby. Since she is 12 weeks post-birth, have you spoken with your vet regarding the timeline for spaying her, or was that done already?
