Maybe if you got him a friend? Frankie was in his pen (in the living room) at night alone… I planned to get him a friend, but wanted to wait a month or so after getting him. He’d be so lonely he’d jump (climb really, he’s amazing!) out of his pen, and in the morning, we’d leave the bedroom, and he’d be on the floor, like “hey! whassup?” … he poops a lot, but doesn’t chew, so it’s really no problem … I just worried he’d hurt himself. We got him a friend (and he’s so friendly, luckily there was no bonding process. He was like “hey! Come live in my pen with me! I loooovvvveeee you! Let me lick you! Lick me! No? That’s ok, I’ll be over here! Ok, I’ll try again … I looovvveee you!!” … that was our bonding process, so we were lucky. But now he’s so happy he’s not always trying to get out. He will, sometimes, because it’s what he does, but mostly he just snuggles with his new friend. It’s a thought. Good luck … your bun sounds really sweet, wanting to sleep with you, and snuggle with you … and being so good with the litter (Frankie, though neutered over a month ago, is like Mr. Poops-a-lot, and everywhere, and he pees on the couch where we sit every time he’s out).
