First of all, I was unsure where to post so please place this where it needs to go and I apologize! Second, Happy Holidays to all!
Just have a few quick questions about my boys. Is it possible for a bunny to have dandruff just on the top of his head and what can I do about it?
Is it possible that I have just got the short end of the draw when I adopted my boys because their health issues are never ending. (A tooth pulled, a tooth infection, a bladder infection, an ear infection, ear mites, conjunctivitis, runny nose, kidney infection just to name a few in the last 3 months between the 2 boys) My vet bills are astronomical this year! They eat oxbow timothy hay, oxbow meadow hay and oxbow botanical hay mixed all together, an endless supply. They eat 1/8th cup of oxbow pellets at night and they get a combination of romaine, sweet baby lettuce, anise, dandelion, parsley, dill, cilantro, endive, and arugula in the afternoon and occasionally kale and bok choy, and they get fruit as a treat on rare occasions. My vet says you never know what you’ll get with a rabbit but infections and illnesses are normal. My boys are rotating fuzzies of infection!
I would also like to know where you all stand on the subject of bonding. My boys hate each other. They can not be in the same room still after a year of neutral territory bonding sessions, stress bonding and multiple month long breaks in between fights. Should I give up on trying to bond them? What would you do after a year of daily bonding sessions and zero progress? I have no issues keeping them separate but some days they just flop next to each other on either side of the gate and groom each other. They are tolerant of each other until the gate is no longer there and then all hell breaks loose.
To those who celebrate Christmas, what do you do to keep your buns safe near a Christmas tree?
Thank you for your advice/help!
