  Hey everyone,
  
  I woke up this morning to some very odd behavior and I am looking to get some input.
  
  My previous house rabbit had a bout with gastrol stasis and it ended up claiming his life so I am worried I might be dealing with the same problem.
  
  Last night before bed was when I noticed the odd behavior but didn’t think much of it. This morning when I woke up, I noticed that he didnt come running out as he usually does. Normally when I wake up he come flying off the couch and jumps in his litter box, but this morning he was already sitting in his box. I crinkled his food bad which usually sends him into a hyper run but nothing. I should note that he did eat last night.
  
  By the looks of things, he has not pooped much in the last 12 hours (he did a little bit, but not near his normal amount) and has not eaten more then a few pieces of hay. He is drinking water and is not lethargic. He is not as he is usually, but he is still kinda hopping around and looking for pets
  
  Obviously my first reaction is bring him to the vet, but to get to the nearest small animal vet, I am looking at an hour and a half drive which I m worried, could make it worse as he HATES car rides.
  
  Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions before I make the trip and freak him right now.

  If he has not eaten or pooped in 12 hours the advice is always to get to the vet asap as this is an emergency. In saying that, I have a thread you can look at which will tell you what I went through with Bramble a few weeks ago. he didn’t eat anything at all for at least 9 hours and didn’t do a single poop either. I was so worried I attempted to take him to the emergency vet at midnight but they wanted far too much money for it and he did start eating around the same time. In the end Bramble was absolutely fine but I did take him to the vet to be sure, I wouldn’t take the risk if I was you, I would get to a vet. My vet thinks Bramble might just have ingested too much hair which caused him to be a little constipated, within a week he was totally back to normal. Like I say personally I would head to the vet, but I hope my experience puts your mind at rest a little, it might not be as bad as you fear.

  I would definitely make a trip to the vet. In the interim you could give some belly massage and a dose of simethicone / baby gas drops (infacol here in Australia) It might help reduce some gas if there is any and reduce the effects of the car ride stress.
