I have my own three year old rabbit, who has been in perfect health beyond a couple bouts of gas. I’ve been bunny sitting for a trio, and one of them developed an abscess. She’s currently waiting to get an appointment for teeth removal/ abscess draining and in the meantime I’ve been feeding critical care to her. I can’t leave it in their cage or the other two will eat it. One of the others has had sneezing since I started taking care of them (five months now) and is otherwise in good health. The third seems perfectly healthy. I decided this weekend to move them to my house because of the additional care required.
My bunny is free range in my downstairs dining room. I immediately took the trio upstairs and am housing them free range in my upstairs hallway. I’ve been washing my hands or hand sanitizing between bunnies. I don’t want my bunny to get sick, but I hated seeing these guys confined with only my daily visits. The bunny mom is in and out of hospital and hasn’t been able to live at home with them in months. Does this sound like an ideal setup for limiting contagions?
Thanks!
