Unless your bunnies climb up onto counters, the trash can trap is safe. Or you can get those live traps at the store. A bunny wouldn’t fit through the mouse-sized hole.

Really? I always have the best of luck with the trash can trap.

You need a TALL trash can. Like one you would use outside. Set it right next to the counter. Then make a “plank” (like pirates, hehe!) using a piece of cardboard or similar. Set the plank on the edge of the counter so about half hangs over the edge (and directly over the trash can). You want it so that just a little bit of weight being added will tip the plank and it will fall into the trash can. Then put some bait on the end of the plank so the mouse will be lured out far enough to tip it. When they venture out, they fall in the trash can. Remember, mice can jump high so it needs to be a tall trash can.

I’ve found sunflower seeds without the shells to be irresistible to mice. Sometimes I will make a little trail to kind of help them get where they need to go. I’ve gotten two in one go before because they both walked the plank together. This was where I work though and there is a huge mouse problem there. LOL

We’ve used snap traps but nowhere that the bunnies can go, maybe you’d want to limit the bunnies so they don’t have access to all rooms, and put your traps in those rooms.

I can tell you a horror story involving snap traps from just last week. o_O Let’s just say they are SUPPOSED to be quick and humane. But yeah, you could put them where the bunnies can’t get to them.
