I have a Flemish Giant, Boris, who is about 5 months old now. We had him neutered a little over a month ago. Before that, he started peeing on the couch every time he got up there, and then peeing on the carpet too. More puddles than little “squirts” (since I’ve read about spraying).
Right after the neuter, he was so good. Still leaving poops around on the carpet when he was out of his condo (he’s not free roam, though we would love him to be), but no peeing.
This week, however, that changed. First he peed a big puddle on the couch. Which, I know couches can be a trigger spot for buns since it smells strongly of “us”. I hoped it was just that and planned to get him off the couch anytime he jumped up. But then last night, he peed right in front of the couch on our carpet! It was less pee than a puddle, but we caught him mid-pee and so that could be why.
He doesn’t ever pee outside his litter in his condo, and will just have a few poops outside of it but I’m not sure if they come out when he jumps in/out.
We had thought the neutering would solve the peeing… but it seems he is back to being untrustworthy! So frustrating!
Any advice/thoughts??
