I find that once bunnies eat farm fresh hay, that’s all they’ll eat. Pet-store hay has probably been sitting on a shelf for a long time, and it is probably stale and tastes bad for rabbits.

I would go with the farm fresh hay.

Rabbits should eat nice long strands of hay. I just put it in a corner of the litter-box. They bunnies like it because they could eat mouthfuls at a time.

Keep trying with the hay – rabbits can be like children if they aren’t familiar with it, they get suspicious and won’t try it right away.

You could try putting something in there like a treat or some pellets to see if you can get her to forage through it which sometimes makes them eat it.

I can totally relate to this, Beebun. Timothy isnt grown at our side of the world. There is one thing you can try though. If there is any horse race centers around where you live, ask them from where they get hay. I come from India and timothy hay is imported here only for horse race clubs. Hopefully they will give you the details of the importer and it will work out. The importer might sell u only in bulk though. Good thing is that when you buy in bulk it will be cheaper (I spoke to an importer whose rates are under Rs.300 per kg while at the pet store its Rs.700 per kg). The difficult part would be to make a storage area for the big bale and protect it from moisture and sunlight.
