  I’ve had my rabbit Penny for over a year now. She has been spayed since she was six months old. SHE IS CRAZY. She will jump on my bed and start digging obsessively at my sheets and biting them. Then she will bite anything she comes in contact with. She will toss everything around. She nips me multiple times to move out of her way. She does not like being pet all that much at all, unless she is sleepy. She is crazy and unsociable. I know this can’t be from boredom because she has a room to herself (along with my other rabbit) and I let them out to run around my whole upstairs (4 different rooms) for AT LEAST four hours everyday. And the room they live in is pretty big. I just don’t understand why she is so weird. My other rabbit is the complete opposite. He is shy and gentle. He is scared of pretty much everything. She is so fierce and independent it scares me. I don’t understand how I got stuck with these rabbits. Don’t get me wrong I love them to death but they are just not like other rabbits that I see on YouTube and such. Help, please.

  She does sound like quite the character.
  As far as saving your bedsheets, perhaps you could distract her with something else to chew when she starts–then reward her for chewing on the decoy? Positive reinforcement takes a while, but is always worth a shot!

  Let me try to address each point
  
  1. Digging and biting cloth. My bun does this. Not sure why. Try to have something appropriate to dig and redirect her?
  
  2. Tossing. Typical bunny behavior. They like to toss things. Give her appropriate stuff to toss.
  
  3. Nips to move out of way. Common. Usually I see a nudge from the head/nose and then if no response they will nip.
  
  4 Doesn’t like to be pet. I don’t want to say this is common but it’s not atypical. My bun is selective in when I can pet her.
  
  5. Boredom. Just because there is room to run doesn’t mean she can’t be bored. That being said I have no clue of your set up so you might have things for her to play and explore mid not you can create some simple hidey houses and tunnels out of cardboard.

  I know this scenario! My male, Merlin, is the most chilled out bun ever. His fav things involve sleeping under the bed, relaxing in the sun and sitting in his box tower to watch us all go past. He likes strokes and will tooth chatter, but never binkies or plays ( i think he’s too old and dignified!)
  But my girl, Luna, is a MADWOMAN! She loves to throw her tin food bowl around to hear it clank, digging, (ripping carpet) doing kamikaze leaps from things, running around the place at 6am and 10pm (you could set your clock by her.)
  
  Buns are different, and you can enjoy both of their companies. Give your lady some things to throw, mine loves empty plastic pots, for the ‘bonk’ noise they make when thrown, loo roll tubes, tinkly balls stuffed with hay, all that. As for digging, mine was a nightmare until i found some straw matts for her to shred up. She has since left blankets and carpets alone, so something to think of!
  I get to play with Luna and snuggle with Merlin. it sounds like you have the same – best of both worlds!
