I already brought her to the vet, they suggested I keep her home in the early stages of stasis. I have a couple questions for them today, but they are closed on Sundays.
So, my rabbit is in the beginning stages of stasis. She is doing well over all – active, pooping, eating kibble and vegetables, but not drinking water or eating hay. I’m serving her veggies wet, and I think she’s just hydrated through that, as well as any water that gets mixed in with critical care. I’ve replaced all her hay with oat hay and alfalfa, and I threw in some alfalfa and timothy chews in her cage as well, but I can’t seem to tempt her consumption of hay. She eats leafy greens excitedly, and her portion of kibble slowly throughout the day.
So my questions are as follows:
Does anyone have an idea on how I could get her to eat more hay?
If she’s not eating hay, should I be concerned about feeding too much leafy greens? And since it’s stasis, I don’t want to cut back on greens since it’s what she’ll eat.
Does anyone have experience with flavoring water with fruit? Do you think that might make her more likely to drink?
