Yesterday I had to go to the hospital with my dad at 7am for an op and should have been back around midday but there was emergency the surgeon had to do so had to wait for op so didn’t get back until 7pm. Since I got back I feel my bunny is maybe unwell or unhappy. He seems to be sticking closer to home (in kitchen) and needs coaxing to come in living room (with food), and not running around really. Also he seems to want stroking lots now whereas before he’d only want it once or twice a day maybe. The worse thing to me though is the bald patch appearing on his back.

2 weeks ago I went to vet as thought he has flees as seemed to have dandruff like flakes. Vet said was mites and put cream on his back. This is where he has now balding and it seemed to have drastically noticed it since I left him. I keep nudging him when he licks (maybe bite can’t tell) and scratches with leg (like dogs with fleas do). Have looked under fur and skin seems white/pale pink and cant really see anything. The dandruff stuff has reduce loads but still an odd flake. Also he is eating his pellet loads but hay seems less interested (still eating but not as much). In addition he is also sniffing and licking the carpet seemingly looking for scraps of crumbs to eat – could he have worms?

I’m going to take him to the vet on Monday and see what’s what but advice would be great. Is it that I left him for so long when usually he pretty much had constant company except at bed time?
