I can’t remember if I’ve posted this before, I do apologize if I have but I couldn’t find it :/

I used to have Binky Bunny’s medium sized litter pan with the screen on top. This worked perfect for a while! It was so easy to clean. After a year of using it, Mimzy decided she didn’t like it anymore & now she picks up the screen & tosses it out which makes a huge mess of hay & poop everywhere

I got a new litter box in hopes it would solve the problem. It was a cat litter box, Lift’n sift. This is a horrible litter box for rabbits!! It is a 4 piece litter box; 2 pans, sifter tray & urine guard. I thought this would work as it has it’s own sifter already. Well…firstly, the sifter holes are too big & the poop gets stuck in it. Thankfully we solved this issue with a mesh screen my mom had that we cut perfectly to size. The next problem was that the sifter sits too low to the litter so all the wet litter just gets stuck to the bottom side of the sifter & it’s just a terrible mess. I started putting the urine guard upside-down between the pan & sifter which works but it’s still such a pain to clean, I hate it!

I figure I may just have to do a DIY litter box. I’d love to go back to the simple pan & screen but Mimzy won’t leave it alone. Does anyone have any ideas how to either keep Mimzy from taking the screen out or maybe any other ideas?? I would like it to still be easy to lift out & dump the droppings.
