I have a neutered 7 months male rabbit and a 6 months soon to be spayed rabbit. I’ve had them together when they were only a few months old, and they got along well back then. I separated them when the male started to mount and bite onto her awhile back. After I got the male neutered, I tried to let them out together again, but they both try to mount and bite onto each other to where it pulls their fur off. They were caged next to each other outside, but I moved him inside the house after getting neutered since he doesn’t spray anymore. I plan to move hers in next to his after she gets spayed for them to be reacquainted and get used to each other.

If they continue to try to mount and bite each other, what should I do? I want to be able to have them share cages or at least a play area.

I would not let them out together or do any bonding until the female is spayed and her hormones have had time to call down (3-4 weeks or so). It’s not fair to expect a hormonal bunny to play nice.

            I agree with LPT.

Bonding is best done with both bunnies spayed/neutered.
