I was talking with a co-worker today about rabbits when she said “I don’t know, rabbit’s don’t to it for me… they have no personality.” Clearly she’s never been around a rabbit for longer than a few minutes! So I figured I’d start a thread where people could share experiences of their bunnies’ personalities shining through.
Meki has a bell on her hutch door that she rarely ever plays with. However, from a young age she ended up training ME that if she rings in the bell in the middle of the night loud and long enough to wake me up, I open the cage for her (she’s so cute, I wanted to pet her since she was trying to get my attention). But it grows annoying when every night the bell is ringing whenever I turn over or move in my sleep in any way. So one night I get up and take the bell out when she’s ringing it without letting her play so I can go to sleep. That seems to have upset her because she then actually put her front paws up on the screen of her hutch and started SHAKING the cage door. It was louder than the bell. I was forced to get up again and pet her to appease her.
And just tonight she was hopping around my room exploring as I was sitting on the floor on my laptop. I have a barrier of tissue boxes blocking her from going underneath my bedside table where it’s hard to fish her out of. She keeps hopping over to the pile and I nudge her away. At one point she gets up to the boxes and nudges one, so I nudge her out of the way and she starts hopping towards her cage. Figuring she’s distracted, I go back to my laptop when out of the corner of my eye I see a blur of black and she’s right up to the boxes again this time absolutely determined she’s going through those boxes and under my table! I catch her just as she knocks off the top box.
I don’t know, maybe it’d be more peaceful if bunnies had no personalities, because mine can be a brat sometimes

Jughead is very relaxed and calm.
Whenever I would sit in his cage (his cage is huge) he would come up to me and nudge me until I would pet him. During the day I’d let him out of the cage where he would hop downstairs, run around and beg us for food until he gets tired where he would lie down with his tummy to the ground, legs stretched out to the side, with his head up.
Except when he smells food because he would stand up on his toes and jump on top of us until he gets what he wants

Oh gosh MeketatenBun, when I first got my boy Henry I was expecting bunny cuddles and everything cute that all cartoon bunny’s (and tissue add’s) portrayed – boy! did I get that wrong!!! Ha ha ha ha…… Once I met BB and it was explained to me that ‘most’ bunnies don’t like to cuddle, I thought ‘HUH’??? Lol!
Anyhow, loving him from a distance has been amazing!!! Personality PLUS! Let me just say, Henry gets away with stuff that I would never allow my children or dog’s get away with. For some reason when a bunny does it, it’s adorable! Ha ha ha ha!And I should add that Henry trained us (including the dog’s) perfectly! How clever is he!!!
He has so much ‘personality’ that I can’t remember a day that I haven’t gone crook at him for something naughty he did! And stupidly it’s always followed up with a pat/rub while I’m saying what a naughty boy he is. Dam bunny!Edit to ADD – Ooops sorry! You wanted to know something my bunny does to show his personality – gosh, that’s gonna be hard picking ONLY one, ha ha ha! When I walk into my bedroom and find everything from my bedside table on the floor and him laying on it! As most BBer’s have said – ‘Henry! Laying on the bed is more comfortable than a timber bedside table’!
Did I mention my bunny isn’t very bright???
