That is VERY good advice, JackRabbit! I have definitely been keeping an eye on it, but the box is taller than Theodore is comfortable even thinking of jumping onto – at least, so far! The box has been in the same position for two months now and he hasn’t even attempted to get on top of it, BUT, just today he escaped his playpen (which has much lower walls) by jumping on top of his carrier that was inside serving as a temporary hide while I did all these changes, so it’s entirely possible that he will learn something from that. The good news is that the room he would jump into is completely binny proofed. But I’ll be keeping a sharp eye on him for that, and if it becomes an issue, I will definitely swap the spots! Good looking out!

I’m a worry wart, but I’d be afraid that if he did decide to try that he would make it and hurt himself landing on the other side.

I saw Moshi jump out of their digging box and from then on I had to make sure he had an open soft area to land if he did it again! Like I said, worry wart!

Absolutely!! I’m a worry wart, too! I’ll look into swapping the spots to be safe. c: The only potential issue is how used to using that corner as a bathroom he is. But let’s see if he’ll adjust. I’ll post pictures of the rearrangement!

Some bunnies do get bent out of shape if you move their litterbox an inch and some just follow it wherever you move it. I’ve never had a problem with litter habits when I’ve moved our boxes, but I’ve always made sure not to wipe down the litterbox when relocating it either (so the scent is still their). Wob’t know until you try though!

I have a feeling that Theodore will follow it around — he’s so mellow and easy when it comes to change. I move his litterbox around and put it in his playpen when he’s out, and he has no problem taking the cue and using it wherever it gets put down. So hopefully, this won’t be an issue. Let’s see!

So far, he seems to be taking to it, so hopefully he won’t have an issue with the switch. In any case, I do feel much better knowing that there’s no way he can jump out now. I also like this arrangement!

What a neat bunny! LOL. mine are only mostly litterbox trained, so they still leave pellets out of the box.

Well, admittedly, I had just completely renovated and cleaned the whole thing, so he’s only been in the new digs for a day and a half now. BUT, I will say that Theodore’s litterbox skills are very, very good. He will do the occasional small pile in the corner to let everyone know that it’s his turf — although he really doesn’t seem to mind me making small adjustments while he’s inside — but for the most part he likes to keep his area nice and clean. He also loves to redecorate a little bit. This morning I found one of his “carrot” chew toys on top of his frozen waterbottle. I’m not sure what the impetus for that was… xD

Ahahahahaha, I wouldn’t be surprised. He also moves around his ceramic cooling tiles into different configurations or a pile. He also has a habit of placing his toys in his water dish, and has been known to push his giant hide box around.  Silly bun.

Hahah! How weird. I wonder why they like doing that? 

The best one for me is when he dropped his little multi-colored chew into the water and the dye melted off into the water, turning it a delicious-looking dark brown red soup.

Lol. In the shelter I volunteer at when i go to do water, there is usually one or more bunnies that have either flipped their food bowl into the water (the food bowls the right size to block the water completely) or they try and drown their stuffed animal in the water, lol.

Oh my god, Theodore does that all the time with his pellet bowl. He gets excited when he thinks he might be getting some, and if I walk away without giving him any I’ll hear a small crash and the bowl will be either knocked over or in the water dish.

There are a few buns that when I give them their supplement (its a papya tablet, they think its a treat) they will put both their front paws in the water trying to get as close to the edge of the crate as possible! I always though bunnies really didn’t like getting wet.

Theodore does this too!! He plants both front paws squarely in his water dish like he doesn’t even notice!

Lilac does the same thing! She not only likes to put her toys in her water dish but one time i caught her sitting in it! Silly bun! It seems she likes water lol.

You would think that they would be bothered by this, but no, apparently our bunnies are completely unfazed by water. xD
