So we finally got moved to the new place. The buns are in one room for the time being until we get more unpacked. When we brought them over from the new house, we moved roxie, Obie, and Caesar in a basket together. We have been working on bonding Obie to the other two. Anyways, they traveled well. We decided we would try putting them in the same pen, since it was neutral. This went well as far as no fighting (except once when we put in a litter box. Caesar decided he was king of the box and wouldn’t let Obie near it) there was a little tension, but the biggest problem is Obie was the odd man out. Roxie and Caesar did their cuddlling, but Obie just sat in a corner. When he tried going up to them, they ran away. There was a lot of lounging individually and Caesar even bunny flopped in the litter box. I felt bad for Obie and was afraid there would be a scuffle overnight, so we seperated him. Is there hope? Is this normal? It seems like nobody wants poor Obie. We tried introducing him to hazel and she hated him. I hope he can find a friend!

I think I would continue trying with this trio – I know you feel bad for him being odd man out but he is for now isn’t he? Am I reading it right that the other two are already bonded?

I will say that litter boxes are very territorial so it might be wise to not even put one in during the bonding.

Sarita, yes roxie and Caesar are already bonded. We seperated them, but kept obies cage next to theirs.

Have you tried the one on one bonding with each of them?

Oh, like having Obie/Caesar and Obie/roxie dates? No, haven’t tried that. That’s a good idea, maybe that will be our next step. thanks!
