  Got Dennis neutered two days ago. He’s about 1.5 – 2 years old (I got him secondhand, I’ve had him for about ten months).
  
  When he got back he was sleepy and probably not feeling the greatest. Just sat in his house / under the desk most of the day. I figured that everything would be back to normal in the next few days (which is what the vet said).
  
  Today I woke up and let him out, and he seemed just fine! Hopping around like usual, maybe a bit stiff / ginger but otherwise just fine. Getting into trouble like always! The thing is he’s so cold to me now. Where before when I entered the room he’d come bopping over to me to say hi, or sometimes even hop around the house looking for me, but he now hops away flicking his heels when I come near.
  
  Okay, at the end of that sentence he actually came over to say hi, licked my hand, accepted a few pats, and hopped off. Hopefully this is a sign of him forgiving me.
  
  Anyway in case it isn’t, I need to know how to fix this. How do you even apologize for something like neutering??

  He doesn’t know anything about neutering – you are just putting your emotions on him…he’ll be just fine, I promise.

  All he knows is you took him to a vet and now he doesn’t feel good. He’ll get back to more normal when he feels better. Expect some hormonal surges in the next couple of weeks, which may cause some bad behaviors.

  Oh, I didn’t know that was a thing. I bet that’s probably it.
  
  But yeah yesterday he was peeing on the floor directly in front of my face when he knew damn sure where his litterbox was. I was just a bit worried he maybe had connected it to me.

  Yeah he may be holding a grudge as he knows you took him for a car ride etc etc, I don’t know they have any concept of body parts. Watch any video of an animal who’s had a limb surgically removed. They just move on, they don’t pine for the limb, and the limb is much more important to them then their ‘bits’.
  
  When apologizing to a rabbit, don’t push interactions, hand out on the floor doing your thing (read, watch TV) and when they approach throw treats for them. He’ll remember you are the one that lets him out to play and feeds him, and I promise you’ll get on just as fine as you always did

  Yeah. When you get a rabbit altered, they often have really bad hormonal behaviors for the next month as their body flushes out the remaining hormonal chemicals and such (a male can still get a female pregnant for a month, so they have lots in storage!). My male became a chewing, anti-social, thumping, foot flicky monster and I was so glad when the month was over and he went back to being the sweet, cuddly, affectionate baby he had always been.

  Lol… Just had to laugh at the “got him secondhand” remark! What a cute phrase! I don’t know his situation before, but I’m sure that he is lucky to have you!
  
  Like the others said, he will be fine shortly! Give him extra love and treats! 🙂
