Cash and I have been in a contest of wills when it comes to the bedding in his cage.
I gave him Aspen bedding. He tried to eat it. What he didn’t attempt to eat was shoved out of his cage. (At that time I had no idea it was not good for him! I’ve learned my lesson!)
Next was CareFresh Natural reclaimed Pulp bedding. He shoved all of it out of the bars on his cage, so he had none of it left inside.
Next I tried Kaytee Wood Pulp Pellet bedding. He varied between eating it and shoving it all out of his cage.
I tried a fleece blanket. He destroyed it beyond any kind of use.
A towel. Destroyed that beyond any kind of use.
Paper towels. Shredded and threw out of the cage.
Newspaper. Shredded into thousands of piece and threw out of his cage.
Carpet square. Utterly destroyed. And guess what? Thrown out of the cage.
WHAT DO I USE AS BEDDING?! He just pushes everything I put in it out of the cage and wants nothing to do with it. I think he jsut prefers to aly on the hard plastic bottom.
But I need some ideas. We are in the process of building him the equivalent of a bunny castle cage, with multi-levels, ramps (he enjoys climbing. I think he might have a touch of mountain goat in him. He will just haul himself ontop of his hutch and climb over anything he can.) so I want to get some ideas of bedding to use in his soon to be completed kingdom.
