I trip over the barrier all the time. It’s a baby gate so it is fairly tall. My husband hates it, he trips over it too.

I don’t, but we normally don’t have baby gates up often. But I’ll tell you a story, once the baby gate was up blocking my sister’s room. I was talking to her on the other side, and I decided to jump over, without a running start so i almost clear it, but my toes get caught in the baby gate, I face plant and the baby gate goes flying. oops.

My partner trips over the baby gates a lot if they’re up in his part of the house. So, we have to take them down after the bunnies go back in their room. He somehow actually cut a chunk out of his toe on a plastic baby gate…

LOL – if I had one, I probably would too.

I put up an expen when I let the rabbits out for time in our living room. My husband gets mad when he has to move it to get to the bathroom in the hallway but its too high to trip over. If we had something short enough we would probably trip trying to step over it.

I have baby gates everywhere — mainly to keep our dog away from the bunny areas. We also put one up at the end of our hallway when the buns are out for play time. I’m short and can just straddle the baby gates. I can’t begin to count the number of times I’ve made it across the gate . . . all except for one foot getting caught on the latch, leaving me either doing the one-legged hop while frantically reaching for ANYTHING, or landing on my rear end with a baby gate on top of me.

JR, have you looked into the baby gates with doors on them? Might save you some falls!

I have a baby gate up at the lounge entrance from the kitchen, besides being ugly – it does work well (mind you, we had to thread chicken wire through it to stop Henry squeezing through – why it’s SO ugly!), but I have a board up in the hallway to stop Henry from accessing the other lounge entrance and Blair’s room, the ONLY 2 rooms Henry is NOT allowed in – and I ‘trip’ over it constantly cause it also blocks my access to the laundry. It’s been over a year now and I still struggle with it cause it’s ‘over’ knee height. We tried one a bit lower which was perfect – but it was also perfect for Henry to jump/climb over – dam bunny! So back to the over knee height we went – and I trip (catch my foot) on it at least once if not twice a week and I have really hurt myself (plus suffered the embarrassment) a few times. Serious, I never inconvenienced myself setting up house with the kids or the dog’s and look at me now with this ‘1’ bunny – sometimes I refer to myself as a sucker, other times – I’m an idiot! LOL!

And yes – I love him (Henry) – DOH!

Oh yes BT. I’ve definitely come a gutser over the door barriers many a time! I’ve also had days where I tripped more often then not each time I stepped over.

One day someone will find me lying on the floor concussed. With the rabbits free roaming around.

We’re looking into gates with walk-thru doors, but I just have to get around to ordering “banister protecter” to attach so that my little buns can’t squeeze thru the openings.

Cash gets really territorial in the spot under my desk where my feet go. So we blocked off the access to my desk with a barrier. It reaches my knee in height… And I trip over it every single time I step over the damn thing. I know it’s there, I try to avoid it, and every time I step over it I trip on the damn thing. >.>
