I have a two year old doe called Calista who has recently lost her bonded partner when we lock her into her hutch at night she looks so lost and lonely so then we decided to get her two friends a try a bunny trio group. One is male (named Joey) and the other is a doe (named Meme) they are both being neutered this Wednesday coming and it will take about a month for them to recover then I’m going to leave them for another week together to reinforce their bond.
I’m going to swap their cages so they get used to each others smells then I was wondering: do I then put them all together in a neutral space or do I focus on pairs? So I bond Calista and Joey then Calista and Meme though I have heard that if you do that then the original pair break their bond.
What do you think? Thank you

I would do sessions with all three rabbits. Pairs have a different dynamic than groups.

Ok thx I’m going to put all three of them in the bathtub and put some treats in the middle so they are distracted for a while

I would be careful with including food in an intro session because some rabbits are food aggressive and it can cause some issues. I’ve always done a very short (5-10 minute) intro session just to kind of get a feel for the rabbits in a group setting and figure out how to proceed from there.
