Well, it always best to take a poop to the vet for another fecal test – that is always what I’ve done.

Usually the vet should give you enough dewormer to break the cycle but in any even, best to have the fecal rechecked to make sure the worms are no longer there.

If you have an appt. to go back then it can wait – I imagine that is why they want to see you again.

I would actually suggest calling the vet. They sometimes forget to tell you when to come back. Different parasites have different life cycles. The first worming takes care of the adults but then you have to repeat worming as the eggs hatch into worms but before they can produce more eggs. This can be several wormings spread out and though a fecal may turn up negative in a couple of weeks it just means there are no eggs but not necessarily no adults. Does this make sense? Check and see if you should be doing a series of wormings before spending the money on another sample.
