Moshu went on a state of stasis a few days back..did not poop for 30 hours straight and I was almost sure that she would not make it. Luckily she did and she seems to be much better than how she was that day.
That day onwards, I have noticed a change in her poop cycle. She starts at about 12 noon and poops properly after every meal till evening ( about 5 pm).. After that, no matter how much she eats, she doesn’t poop like she does in her day time ; its sparse from the evening till the night.. At night she poops a bit before I put her into cage for bedtime. In the morning, I see no poop pellets like I used to see before the day she suffered the stasis. I hope she poops cecotropes ; that will reflect her system is normal and she’s getting the nutrients too.
I took her to a vet today and she was fine at that hour, so when he touched her tummy, he did not feel any blockage or bloating.. He told me that different rabbits have different poop cycles ; there are rabbits that poop only twice a day.. and some the entire day. I want to confirm from here since I am slightly doubtful of what he told me. He mentioned nothing about GI stasis, just told me that she is fine and I have nothing to worry about.
Its night time at the moment..a few hours earlier her tummy felt round and full but now it doesnt.
A human’s metabolism slows down as we reach the end of the day..is it similar with rabbits ? Could that be reason why her poops come out more in the daytime and starts to slow down as we reach evening and completing stopping by night.
Help me over here.
